UN Women has launched a social media campaign called "#HeForSheAtHome”. It’s an adaptation of their famous "#HeForShe” campaign and it’s supposed to raise awareness on the burden women face during Covid-19. According to an OECD report, “women make up almost 70% of the health care workforce, exposing them to a greater risk of infection. At the same time, women are also shouldering much of the burden at home, given school and child care facility closures and longstanding gender inequalities in unpaid work. Women also face high risks of job and income loss, and face increased risks of violence, exploitation, abuse or harassment during times of crisis and quarantine.” As you can see, the Covid-19 pandemic has made even more evident that also sharing the burden of care and house work is imperative to reach gender parity and should be the norm in society.

By participating in #HeForSheAtHome, you can encourage men and boys to help women, i.e. sharing the burden and being active in taking care of kids or cleaning the house. The participation is fairly easy: all you (men) have to do is take a picture of yourselves, ideally with a piece of paper with the "#HeForSheAtHome" hashtag, while you’re doing e.g. household chores to show your support!

As the current Liaison Officer towards UN Women, feel free to send the pictures directly to me (teresa.puchinger@aegee.e) until May 17th and with the kind support of GEIG, we will be posting them soon!

Key to Europe team 2019/2020 is looking for your photos!

🔹 First of all: What is Key to Europe?

Key to Europe is AEGEE's yearbook (annual report). It is issued once per year and contains articles about the activities of the previous year together with an outlook on the following year.

🔹Why do we need you?

Did you take an amazing picture during the last Agora/EPM? Did you take an incredible picture during an activity (local level or european level)? Did you take a memorable picture during your last Summer University or New Years Event? Perfect - because we need your photo! Show the world your photographic memories.

🔹 What photos are we looking for?

We need one cover photo for the K2E itself and one cover photos for each category. The general cover picture has to be vertical; the category cover pictures can be vertical and horizontal. Please keep in mind that a good quality is necessary.

This booklet contains all 17 SDGs with challenges for yourself as well as for your local – however, if you do challenges with your local please act according to Covid-19 Guidelines in your country and stay safe. Additionally, questions regarding our society and development are raised. AEGEE-Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken invites you to celebrate the 35th Birthday of the Schengen Agreement! 🤝

Join the online session to recognize the importance of this milestone and its contribution to European integration!🇪🇺

There will be speakers, such as:

🔹Christina Kneip, head of the Schengen Information Center
🔹Catherine Lalumière, President of the Maison de l’Europe in Paris, former MEP and minister that co-signed in 1985 the Schengen Agreement
🔹Roland Theis, State Secretary for European Affairs of Saarland and member of the European Committee of the Region
🔹Christophe Arend, French MP and President of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly
🔹Daniël Amesz, President of AEGEE-Europe

The online session will be divided into three parts. It will start with an introduction about Schengen, then we talk about why to commit yourself to cross-border cooperation and Europe. Lastly, there will be a debate regarding the Schengen Agreement, and what it values for the common future in Europe. To make the discussion as interactive as possible, the listeners can ask questions in the chat function. 🔊

To underline the multinational efforts being made for this achievement as well as our project Schengen35 as well, the speakers will use their mother tongues.

The whole session will be translated and thus available in three channels: English🇬🇧, French🇫🇷 and German🇩🇪!

Missing Network Meetings? Feeling tired and need an energiser? Want to learn, but can’t attend a Regional Training Course? Want to see old friends again and meet new AEGEEans?

No worries, we got your back! We invented a game to bring the beautiful experiences that AEGEE has to offer together as an online game. You will start out as a contact-antenna with your team, but will grow out to become real Gunnars.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲

You sign up for the game individually and we will divide you into random teams. You will be divided into teams, which we will call ‘(contact-)antennas’.

𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:

🔹 You will start out as a contact-antenna, however you become an antenna by designing a flag, creating a team outfit, coming up with traditions for your ‘(contact-)antenna’ or anything else that will make your ‘(contact-)antenna’ feel like a real antenna.

🔹 Organise a small low key event, which will take up between 15-60 minutes. If you’d like to organise an event that will take up more time, you can discuss with your ‘NetCom’ (which we will announce later) whether this will be possible or not.

🔹 Another way to earn points is to go to events that others have organized. Your ‘(contact-)antenna’ will earn points for every event that has been visited by one of your members.

🔹 Members of your (contact-)antenna can find people of other (contact-)antennas with the same interests. If a team member creates/joins an ‘interest group’ in the game, the ‘(contact-)antenna’ will earn points.

🔹 You can earn points by becoming twin (contact-)antennas with another (contact-)antenna.

📜 As policy officer of the European Citizenship Working Group, I have prepared a google form to collect useful data to draft my Policy Paper on "The impact of Youth Mobility Projects".

Mobility programs (including Erasmus+ student exchanges) are nowadays a consistent aspect of our lives as young citizens, even more for those residing in countries of the European Union.
This policy paper aims to remind us and to emphasize the incredible potential youth mobility programs are always putting on the table for those in search of life changing experiences, whether for a university exchange of few months, a Voluntary Service abroad during a gap year or a training to improve our key competences as youth workers and youth leaders.
