Jew or Judean?

The Greek word Ἰουδαῖος (Ioudaios) appears nearly 200 times in the New Testament, yet its translation as “Jew” in English often distorts its original meaning. Rooted in the word Judah, Ἰουδαῖος originally referred to a Judean, a person from the tribe or region of Judah.

Over time, this term evolved, but its tribal and geographic meaning remained central. Translating it simply as “Jew” imposes a modern religious or ethnic identity that shifts to serious misunderstandings, especially in verses like Revelation 3:9: "Behold, I will make those from the synagogue of Satan, those who say they are Jews Judeans and are not, but are lying.. "

Restoring the term “Judean” where appropriate brings clarity to Scripture and honors the original cultural-historical context. Christ was a Judean by geography and lineage, but not a “Jew” by modern usage or identity.

Language matters, and reclaiming Ἰουδαῖος is a step toward more faithful biblical interpretation.

In the 13th century, Nicholas of Lyra, a jew converted to Christianity, wrote the first Bible commentary that was pushed enormously and became the official commentary that was used by the Christian theologians. About 100 years later, another converted to Christianity jew, Paul of Bergos, became an archbishop, lord cancellor, and exegete in Spain. He was also a Talmudic scholar. He enhanced the existing commentary of Nicholas of Lyra, and even Martin Luther was using their analysis when he wrote his book "On The Jews and Their Lies." In the beginning of the 16th century, another crypto-jew from Spain, Ignatius Loyola, was pursuing a career in the priesthood of the Catholic Church and was the founder of the Jesuit Order in 1539 that was later on approved by pop Paul III. Loyola recruited a large number of crypto-jews into the order. The ongoing tampering with the Bible that the jews have done for centuries by deliberately placing tens of thousands of mistranslations, omitting Yahweh close to 7000, inserting the word "jew" in the 18th century and claiming the Moses books as being the Torah, are all undeniable facts that prove the jewish theft of our identity.
Despite all these facts, there are many true biblical scholars who have proven not only the deliberate mistakes and mistranslations done in the Bible but the advisedly spread blasphemies of the organized and fully judaized main stream "Christianity".
IMHO, if at least 30% of our race had known the true interpretation of the Bible and our covenant origin, we would have never ever ended in this dire situation.
