For those who maybe confuse...we have to look at what the object is actually doing. For acceleration (a > 0)..the velocity of the object is increasing..while deceleration (a < 0)..the velocity of the object is decreasing.
In the quiz, the acceleration changes from 3 m s-² to 2 m s-²..both numbers are positive.Because the acceleration is still positive, the object is still gaining speed every second.
It is simply gaining speed more slowly than it was before.
Imagine you are pressing the gas pedal in a car. At first, you floor it which is high acceleration. Then, you lift your foot slightly but keep pressing down which is lower acceleration. The car is still speeding up, just not as quickly as before. You haven't hit the brakes yet..
So...when would it be deceleration? For the motion to be considered deceleration, the acceleration value would need to become negative which is relative to the direction of motion..

An object is traveling at a constant speed of 10ms^-1. Is it possible for the object to be accelerating?
Since velocity is a vector quantity, it consists of both magnitude (speed) and direction. Therefore, a change in either the magnitude or the direction of motion is defined as acceleration.

is there any questions u dont understand above? if yes lemme know in comments, 12 am I will explain.
the 48km one, u dont have to worry if u dont understand, its not important for now. but if u insist to understand it, feel free to ask.

I am sorry for teaching wrongly, the correct answer to this question is , you cannot determine if the object is accelerating or decelerating , because the initial velocity of object is not given, if lets say the initial velocity was -3ms-1, or in words 3 meters per second to the left(assuming right as positive and left as negative) then it would be deceleration because acceleration works like a push force. lets say u are moving to the right with speed of 2ms-1 and if your acceleration is 2 ms-2, then its acceleration because the push direction and the direction of your initial motion is same, but if lets say the u are moving left with the speed of 2ms-1 and if your acceleration is 2 ms-2, then its deceleration because the push direction and the direction of your initial motion is not same, so to determine if an object is accelerating or decelerating, we have a formula av>0 means acceleration or av<0 means deceleration, where a is acceleration and v is velocity.
Sebabnya, pecutan bertindak seperti daya tolakan (push force).
