Q1. Solve the equation x-5√ x -14=0

Q2. Given log₅ (4Q)+ 2 log₅ (125 P) =2, express P in terms of Q.

since a lot are using differentiation to find min max point of a quadratic function, tho they can use -b/2a..did u guys know that if u differentiate the general form of quadratic , and set it to 0 to find the min max point, u guys get back the formula, -b/2a?

5√x = x - 14
25x = x² - 28x + 196
x² - 53x + 196 = 0
(x - 49)(x - 4) = 0
x = 49 or x = 4

When x = 49,
49 - 5√(49) - 14 = 0

When x = 4,
4 - 5√(4) - 14 = -20 ≠ 0

So x = 4 is rejected, and x = 49 is the only answer.

i really advice all f5 to try this out...its really a nice question...

Maths is always about trying different types of question, when you do a lot of questions,you will familiarize with the questions and just ikut the same approach... so do a lot of (UNUSUAL) questions also, so that u are prepared for most of the type of questions...

I am assuming that ur f5 mid term for addmaths will be in 8 weeks... so why not we all focus 2 bab every 1 week? sunday to Wednesday 1 bab, thurday to Saturday another bab...
