We just added another relay node located in Germany. 🎉
This should make updates of the nodes easier and ensures minimal downtime of the block producer in case of server updates.

Epoch 278 started and we successfully created our first block.

A quick update on the BOSON front:
- we are in epoch 284, unfortunately no blocks assigned since the one and only we got until now. But our belief in randomness (of the algorithm) is strong 🤓, so we hope to get one soon again.
- since we minted our first block and promised to donate part of our rewards, we did so with the epoch 278 rewards: check out https://ada4science.com/#donation for details
- as a small pool, it is lonely out there, so we joined the "xSPO Alliance" to get support and also provide support to fellow staking pool operators. Check out https://adafolio.com/portfolio/e92d7c06-e9a8-11eb-8dbd-0242c0a8e002
- since we are a mission-driven pool, we applied to join to the "mission driven pool" group/alliance where most MDPs join and can be found. The Cardano Stake Pool that supports Science
Another short update on the BOSON front:
- Epoch 287 is coming to an end. Unfortunately, still no blocks assigned at the moment
- exciting stuff happening on the Cardano side. Smart contracts are being tested on the testnet and if things go well, they will come to the mainnet soon. Sept 12th is currently the target date.
- IOHK has announced a new community delegation round, where they delegate around 3 million Ada of stake to chosen stake pools each for a period of 3 months. This helps those pools to gain some momentum and attract new potential delegators. We will of course also apply for this. The chances are slim though, as they only choose around 100 pools out of ~3000

- We did not receive the IOHK delegation mentioned in the earlier update. Chances were slim, but if you don't apply you can't get it, can you?
- on the Cardano front, smart contracts went live, unsurprisingly without any hickups.

Dear delegators,
with a heavy heart we have to announce that we decided to retire our stake pool. Running a stake pool, might look like a passive hobby from the outside, but over the course of the past year we realized that there is much more to it than just making sure the servers are running. Unfortunately, we cannot dedicate the necessary time such a project needs.
The pool will retire in epoch 335 which starts on 25 April 2022. If you do not redelegate your stake before that date, it will simply be un-staked, i.e. don't worry, you will still have your stake, you just need to find another stake pool if you want to continue staking.
At this point ada4science has donated over 500 ADA to science projects, which we are very proud of. But of course this would not have been possible without you - the delegators. So a big thank you for your trust and for staking with us.
