😠 Shell is hosting an international conference for the liquified gas industry 'LNGCON2025' from March 10 until March 12. At this conference Shell and the other fossil con-artists are developing greenwash stories to make us believe liquified gas is the bridge to a green future. Together with banks and industry partners more than 400 climate criminals try to lock-in gas use for many years to come. But, liquified gas fuels war, genocide and climate destruction.
Therefore, Fossielvrij NL and Geef Tegengas organise a counter-summit deconning LNG ✊. The counter-summit will focus on the link between liquified fossil gas, war, and climate destruction. In the workshops, we dive into the nature of gas and war. For example, by focusing on how LNG is fuelling the Genocide in Palestine. The documentaries will show how gas is impacting communities affected by gas money and gas extraction, from Palestine to the US.
👥 We welcome everyone, even if you are not - yet - angry about the fossil fuel industry. You are welcome whether you are new to the climate movement or have been involved for a longer time.

Join our workshop 'How is the gas industry linked to the genocide in Palestine?' by Lenny from @geeftegengas. The workshop will draw some of the links between Liquid Gas (LNG) terminals , pipelines, and the oppression and Genocide in Palestine. Geef Tegengas and Fossielvrij NL are organizing a counter summit against the dirty fossil summit LNGCON25 and focus on the links between war, genocide and gas. More workshops will follow!

The action of today has been succesfully set up! For 2 hours already, no trains are able to enter or leave the port of Rotterdam. 35 thousand trains go through the harbour each year, which means we've already blocked 6 trains. Besides transporting 10% of all shippingcontainers through the harbour, this train track is one of the most important supply lines of coal to the German Ruhr Vally Today. Today, zero of those will pass. Today, no deadly trade will happen.

💰Almost two hours into the action, we've caused about €250.000 euros in damages. ProRail has again confirmed that no trains can go in or out of the action. They've also confirmed that at least 5 cargo trains have been unable to leave at their scheduled time so far.
💥💪 Our demands are being picked up in the media and we're getting more coverage, also from more national outlets. Our challenge to the genocidal, murdurous logistical hell is being picked up and getting exposure. Let's keep up this pressure, both in the media and in their wallets!!
