Imām al-Shāṭibī (رحمه الله) said:

طوبى لمن مات وماتت معه ذنوبه والويل الطويل لمن يموت وتبقى ذنوبه مائة سنة ومائتي سنة يعذّب بها في قبره ويسأل عنها إلى انقراضها

“Glad tidings to the one who died and his sins died with him. And lengthy woe(s) be to the one who dies and his sins remain for a hundred and two-hundred years, being punished by them in his grave, and he is asked about them until their [effects] expire.” Al-Muwāfaqāt (1/229).
