WATCH: Chuck Schumer says Secretary Hegseth attacked the Atlantic "journalist" instead of owning up. He likens it to an "Alice in Wonderland World."

"If the Russians or Iranians or the Houthis had somehow known about these texts, if someone more nefarious than Mr. Goldberg had been added to the text chain, our troops would have been in danger, the mission would have been compromised..."

"Secretary Hegseth attacked the journalist! Amazing! It's like an Alice in Wonderland world! โ€” Called him deceitful!

"He pointed fingers. He blamed the liberal media. Moaned about hoaxes."

"This is not a hoax. It's very real and very serious. You should not be in your job."

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅRepublicans are introducing a bill to pull all government funding from NPR and PBS.

The move, first reported by Fox News, comes a day after the stations' CEOs appeared on Capitol Hill to combat claims both organizations have exhibited bias.

Both outlets have denied the allegations, leading to an eventful hearing Wednesday during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing presided over by Marjorie Taylor Greene.

WaPo: The Justice Department has proposed merging the Drug Enforcement Administration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as part of a dramatic shift in the operations of the departmentโ€™s component agencies and headquarters divisions, according to a memo obtained by The Washington Post.

The memo โ€” sent from the office of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche this week to top department leaders โ€” also suggested transferring INTERPOL Washington, a part of the Justice Department that coordinates with law enforcement agencies around the world, to the U.S. Marshals Service.

There could also be reductions to the departmentโ€™s tax enforcement division, with attorneys in the division transferred to U.S. attorneysโ€™ offices across the nation.

The memo requested feedback on the proposals by Wednesday. Many of the proposals involve agencies and offices created by Congress, and itโ€™s unclear how easily some of these changes could be executed without congressional approval.

Justice Department officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss proposals that have not been made public, stressed that they are intended to solicit feedback and are not a done deal.

King Charles III experienced unspecified side effects of his cancer treatmentand was briefly in the hospital on Thursday, Buckingham Palace said.

"Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

No details were provided on the length of the observation period nor what the king's side effects entailed. He has since returned to Clarence House, one of the royal residences in London.

The monarch's engagements for Friday have been postponed as a result. Charles was scheduled to have four events in Birmingham that he is "greatly disappointed" to have to miss, according to the palace.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Inspector General's office confirmed the government failed to properly monitor tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors who crossed the border without parents.

โ€œWithout an ability to monitor the location and status of UACs, ICE is unable to facilitate court appearances and has no assurance UACs are safe from trafficking, exploitation, forced labor, or involvement in criminal activities that may pose a risk to local communities,โ€ the DHS inspector general said.

The report, published Wednesday, revealed that, from fiscal years 2019 to 2023, more than 448,000 unaccompanied minors were transferred to U.S. Department of Health and Human Servicesโ€™ custody, with the majority then released to sponsors. However, more than 31,000 of the childrenโ€™s release addresses were blank, missing apartment numbers, or otherwise incomplete.

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅToday, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to suspend security clearances held by individuals at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP (WilmerHale) pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest.

โ€ข Security clearances held by WilmerHale employees will be immediately suspended, pending a review of whether their access to sensitive information is consistent with the national interest.

President Trump believes that lawyers and law firms that engage in conduct detrimental to critical American interests should not be subsidized by American taxpayers or have access to our Nationโ€™s secrets.

โ€ข WilmerHale rewarded Robert Mueller and two of his colleagues by welcoming them to the firm after they wielded the power of the Federal government to lead a partisan โ€œinvestigationโ€ against the President and others.   Muellerโ€™s investigation epitomizes the weaponization of government.

โ€ข In addition to WilmerHale, President Trump has also taken action to hold other major law firms accountable.

FBI agents who blew the whistle on โ€œwrongdoingโ€ within the bureau โ€” including one agent saying he wants to share further information about working under disgraced FBI official Peter Strzok โ€” are calling upon the bureau, now led by Kash Patel, to review and resolve their claims of retaliation by Biden's FBI.

Empower Oversight sent an early March letter to FBI general counsel Samuel Ramer, asking the bureau for help related to the improper treatment of FBI agents Garret Oโ€™Boyle, Marcus Allen, Stephen Friend, Zach Schofftsall, Monica Shillingburg, and Michael Zummer. The letter also includes new details on four yet-redacted clients, at least one one of whom wants to share FBI abuses from his time working under Strzok, the fired FBI supervisory special agent deeply involved in Crossfire Hurricane.

At least some of the FBI whistleblowers have been locked in a legal battle with the bureau for years, alleging that their security clearances were stripped and their livelihoods threatened by the FBI. But now, with a new FBI chief in charge, the whistleblowers and their lawyers are asking the bureau to give the concerns of their clients a renewed look.

FBI staff operations specialist Marcus Allen had his security clearance suspended โ€œfor questioning whether Director Wray had testified truthfully to Congress and other allegations based on SOS Allenโ€™s political beliefs and concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine,โ€ his lawyers said. Allen, who had been assigned to the FBIโ€™s Charlotte Division, โ€œwas suspended indefinitely without payโ€ as a result of this and other disclosures.

PROJECTION๐Ÿฅด: Hillary Clinton, known for using a private email server for official public communications rather than using official State Department email accounts, pens an opinion piece published by the New York Times blasting Pres. Trump for "squandering America's strength and threatening our national security," calling out this week's Signal chat controversy.

Ironically, the first paragraph calls out hypocrisy and labels Signalgate "dangerous" and "just dumb":

"Itโ€™s not the hypocrisy that bothers me; itโ€™s the stupidity. Weโ€™re all shocked โ€” shocked! โ€” that President Trump and his team donโ€™t actually care about protecting classified information or federal record retention laws. But we knew that already. Whatโ€™s much worse is that top Trump administration officials put our troops in jeopardy by sharing military plans on a commercial messaging app and unwittingly invited a journalist into the chat. Thatโ€™s dangerous. And itโ€™s just dumb."
