Motion Picture Academy Member, Hollywood Architect, and Synagogue Co-Founder Sentenced for Child Molestation
A prominent Los Angeles man was sentenced to eight years in state prison on Monday over three counts of child molestation.
Jeffrey Cooper, 70, was convicted by jurors in Los Angeles Superior Court in Van Nuys, Calif. in May of this year after a two-week-long trial. He was indicted on eight counts in 2018 including three counts of lewd and lascivious acts against a person 14 or younger and five counts of child molestation involving a person 10 or younger.
the 12-person jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the counts involving the younger alleged victim. Superior Court Judge Alan Schneider declared a mistrial on those charges, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The same woke AP that in 2020 told journalists not to use the word "riot" to describe actual riots has now come out with a handy "Transgender Coverage Topical Guide" for journalists.
I'm not sure if that applies to Digital Soldiers but here's what the TCTG advises:
>> Do not "deadname" anyone -- ie refer to a transgender personโs previous name, because that โcan be akin to using a slur and can cause feelings of gender dysphoria to resurface.โ
>> If you use the word "groom": "Do not quote people using the term in this context without clearly stating it is untrue."
>> Do "use the term 'sex (or gender) assigned at birth'...A personโs sex and gender are usually assigned at birth by parents or attendants and can turn out to be inaccurate. Experts say gender is a spectrum, not a binary structure consisting of only men and women, that can vary among societies and can change over time.โ
It is not clear who the so-called "experts" are that the guide quotes. (Note to AP: Identify and reference your sources.)
And finally:
>> โAvoid false balance giving a platform to unqualified claims or sources in the guise of balancing a story by including all views.โ
