but every time one door closes, another problem appears waiting to be solved.

i don't think the future belongs to the people who know the most. i think it belongs to the people who adapt the fastest.

mindset beats fear. adaptability beats uncertainty.

the game isn't ending.

it's just changing.

one habit i've really started appreciating lately:

before calling a task "done", i ask my agent to smoke test everything we built so far.

start the services, check the critical endpoints, verify the main flows and make sure nothing obvious is broken.

it sounds simple, but it catches a surprising number of issues before they become bigger problems.

sometimes good engineering is just verifying your assumptions before moving on.

one mindset i'll probably never understand:

thinking ai is "cheating." 🤔

every generation gets new tools.

the calculator didn't kill mathematics.
the internet didn't kill learning.
github didn't kill programming.

and ai won't kill engineering.

tools don't replace skill, they amplify it.

give the same ai tool to 10 different people and you'll get 10 different results. the difference isn't the tool. it's the person using it.

the real skill isn't memorizing everything anymore.

it's understanding problems, making good decisions, asking the right questions, and shipping solutions with limited time and energy.

the world is changing fast.

i'd rather learn how to use the new tools than spend my time pretending they don't exist.

adaptability has always been a competitive advantage, now it's becoming a requirement.

one of my favorite movie scenes of all time is from "The Pursuit of Happyness".

during an interview, he says:

i'm the type of person, if you ask me a question and i don't know the answer, i'm gonna tell you that i don't know. but i bet you what: i know how to find the answer, and i will find the answer.

that mindset has stayed with me for years.

every project, every new technology, every challenge reminds me of it.

you don't have to know everything.

you just need the willingness to learn, the discipline to keep looking, and the confidence to figure things out.

i've watched this movie more times than i can count, and it's still one of my favorites.

Z.ai just dropped GLM-5.2 — an open-source coding model sitting right next to Claude Opus 4.8 on benchmarks.

not "close enough" close.

like, 1% close.

and it's MIT licensed. meaning anyone can use it, self-host it, build on it. no region locks, no restrictions.

the API costs $1.40 per million tokens.
Claude Opus? $10.
GPT-5.5? similar story.

you don't need expensive hardware either. just run:

ollama run glm-5.2:cloud

or point Cursor / Cline / any OpenAI-compatible client at the Z.ai API and you're good.

we keep saying the tools are getting better and cheaper.

this is exactly what that looks like in real time.

one thing i’ve learned about ideas:

sometimes we protect our ideas too much because we are afraid someone will take them.

but an idea alone is not the product.

execution, consistency, and understanding the problem are what make it valuable.

the right people don’t always steal your ideas. sometimes they add a new perspective, open opportunities, and make the idea stronger.

also, don’t only collaborate with people who think exactly like you.

different skills, different backgrounds, and different perspectives can create something much bigger than one person can imagine.

recently, i experienced this myself. sharing an idea didn’t take anything away from it. it actually helped it move forward.

don’t bury your ideas because of fear.

build.
test.
collaborate.

because sometimes the next level of your idea is hidden inside a conversation.
