这是一篇关于 Mastodon 入门的文章，非常客观地还原了刚接触 Fediverse 的用户的心理。
但是有一点值得注意：文章里提到很多不足其实是 Mastodon 的前端造成的，但是现在 Fediverse 程序多有前后端分离的趋势，例如 Pleroma 和 GotoSocial 。很多问题其实并不由后端而是由前端造成的，比如文章中提到的需要拷贝用户名去搜索账户这点。
所以 Mastodon 存在的问题并不一定就是 Fediverse 所存在的问题。

目前最流行的 Fediverse 程序大多是微博客（Micro-blog）这种。既然有微博客，与之相对，就会有博客。

目前 Fedi 用户有不少在敦促公众建立自己的博客，作为一个博客作者当然乐见于此。但是，建立博客，哪怕是最低限度的静态博客，对于不少人来说，可能有着或这或那的门槛，例如经济情况、技术认知以及文字输出能力。即便一时兴起搭建起博客，也未必能维持正常营运，更遑论保持文字输出。这一点随便看看博客友情链接页里坏链数量便可知一二。

这不由得让人觉得：免费（自由意义上的）互联网是否仅适用于富裕且受过良好教育的中产阶级？

Unrelated to the fediverse but still, hear me rant.
I see a lot of people these days (most of them on the fedi) urging the grand public to set up their own blog, while the majority of people, who are in a less financially comfortable position, can only afford to exist online as guests or tenants on other people’s sites.
These people make me wonder: Is the free (in the freedom sense) internet only intended for the well-off and well educated middle class and the bourgeoisie wannabes?
Some certainly behave in a way as if it is.

#周边

据悉，马特·穆伦维格(Matt Mullenweg)有意愿为 Tumblr 添加 ActivityPub 支持。这意味着 Tumblr 可以与 Fedi 实例交互，用户可以在 Mastodon、Pleroma、Pixelfed、Misskey 等实例上关注 Tumblr 账户，反之亦然。

马特·穆伦维格(Matt Mullenweg)是 Wordpress 第一个版本的共同开发者，也是 Automattic 的联合创始人兼首席执行官。Automattic 于2019年收购了 Tumblr。

Mastodon 中的一个安全漏洞被利用来攻击 Mastodon 实例。据悉，该安全漏洞是由实例的站内用户搜索恶意实例的用户引起的，每次都会返回2个随机用户名，由于 Mastodon 缺乏对递归的限制，导致服务器陷入无限抓取的循环。

最大的中文 Mastodon 实例草莓县已经受到影响，具体表现为公共时间线在很长一段时间内持续充斥着垃圾帖子和用户，极大占用了服务器资源。

有人总结了恶意实例的域名，建议所有管理员及时屏蔽。
