🚨 Major Android Change Coming This September

Starting September 30, 2026, Google is introducing a strict new safety policy that will change how we use Android apps.

What is happening?

Google will enforce mandatory Android Developer Verification. Every single app installed on a certified Android device—whether downloaded from the Play Store or sideloaded from the web—must come from a registered, verified developer.

The Details:

• 🛑 Unverified Apps Blocked: Apps from developers who haven't verified their identity, signed a contract, and paid a fee to Google will be blocked.
• 📅 The Rollout: Phase 1 begins September 30, 2026, targeting devices in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
• 🌍 Global Expansion: The restriction is scheduled to expand worldwide through 2027.

While Google says this is to fight malware and scams, it impacts open-source platforms (like F-Droid) and indie creators. Even if you sideload, the app's developer must be verified by Google to run on your phone.
