VOLUNTEERING PROJECT!

Project Name: Tsehai Loves Learning Classroom Scale-Up Project

RCAAW, in collaboration with Whiz Kids Workshop, successfully implemented the Tsehai Loves Learning Classroom (TLL) Library project in 2017-2019. The TLL project was implemented in 40 public schools in Addis Ababa and dramatically transformed the educational outcomes of 23,000 children who lacked access to appropriate reading and learning materials.


Now it's bigger than ever!

- Three hundred (300) public schools were selected in Addis Ababa in consultation with 11 Sub-city Education Bureaus,

- Three thousand (3,000) libraries (10 class libraries per school) will be created,

- Between 300 – 600 volunteers will be needed per year with the possibility of quarterly recycling.

Activities expected to be done by recruited volunteers:

- Their commitment to one-half day per week on Friday,
- Read aloud for children at the classroom library,
- Support read at home intervention by assisting teachers in distributing books
- Support teachers to run reading competitions in the schools
