Application for admission to Graduate program for the 2024/25 Academic Year

Addis Ababa University has opened up a call for the academic year of 2024/25 in the regular and extension Masters Programs as well as PhD programs.

AAU therefore invites you to apply for admission by fully complying with the following requirements.

Taking the AAU Graduate Admission Test (GAT)

1.To apply for postgraduate programs, you must first take the University Graduate Admission Test (GAT) and fulfill the minimum requirement to pass the exam.
2.Tests and related information can be obtained from the Telegram of the Institute for Educational Research

General steps for applying to the AAU Graduate Program
1.Open the portal of Addis Ababa University https://portal.aau.edu.et
2.Click on the Apply for Admission link located on the left-hand side
3.On the top bar, you will find the graduate drop-down menu. You can click on the Programs button to view the graduate programs and their brief description. Alternatively, you can scroll down to the left side entitled Graduate Study, and click Find out what graduate programs we offer before the Apply button.
4.After reviewing the programs, Click on Apply.
5.You will find the general information and the application steps on the front page of the apply button. Once you read it, click on the Continue button to redirect you to the programs for choosing.
6.Once you decide on the program of your choice, click on the program and press the Continue button to create an applicant account.
7.Fill out the required information on the Create Graduate Applicant Account page. Use a valid email and phone number and record the password you entered on the page for future use. Once finished, click the CREATE ACCOUNT button.
8.Log in using the LOG IN button on the top-right corner of the page with the email address and password you used to create the account.
9.Fill out the required information on the Your Academic Profile page, Click on UPDATE, and then click NEXT.
10.Select regular as admission Type
11.Select your Program of Choice and Click on Continue
12.Upload your documents and click the Submit button.
13.To pay the amount specified for the registration fee and UAT test, Click on Continue to Payment and then Click on Proceed to Payment.
14.Completion of your payment through Telebirr
15.Open SEE ADMISSION STATUS to know the final result of admission

Notice
1.We would like to inform you that you will not be able to complete the registration process unless you order an official transcript to be sent to Addis Ababa University Registrar, P.O. Box 1176.
2.Department-level admission requirements for the various programs are available at http://admission.aau.edu.et/GraduateProgramsOnly Departmental entrance exam information is available from the department.
3.Make sure you fulfill the admission requirements of the specific program as indicated in the curriculum of the specific program (uploaded on the website of the university http://admission.aau.edu.et/GraduateProgramsOnly ).
4.Applicants for health disciplines must attach a letter from the Ministry of Health or a university grade report for each semester upon completion of their degree.
5.We would like to inform you that educational programs will not be opened if the number of students is below capacity.
6.Applicants who have attended school abroad should bring a Higher Education Equivalence Letter from FDRE Education and Training Authority (ETA) and meet all the requirements set by the University.
