Some of you noticed that on ForexFactory, major news events like NFP and CPI are showing up as “Tentative” instead of with their usual time.

Here’s what that really means:
• Normally NFP always drops at 8:30 AM New York time (first Friday of the month).
• When the U.S. government shuts down, the agencies (like the Bureau of Labor Statistics) that publish this data can’t confirm release schedules.
• That’s why ForexFactory (and other calendars) mark them as Tentative — the release could be delayed, or in rare cases postponed.
• Once the shutdown ends, the data usually returns to the standard release time — but until then, timing is uncertain.
