The Women's Forum in #Raqqa started today with a minute of silence for all women who had become victims of genocide & murder

Since 1999, Abdullah Öcalan is being held on the prison island of Imrali in solitary confinement

➡️ For 4 years he is facing an absolute communication-ban - the last meeting with his lawyer was on 7.8.2019

➡️ Since then, all requests for lawyer-client meetings have been denied

📃 The Asrın Law Office, which represents Abdullah Öcalan, issued a statement:

📢 “Our fundamental priority is to obtain direct & reliable information about Mr Öcalan (...). We call on the authorities to put an end to this absolute communication ban and crime of torture."

The Forum ended with a final declaration presenting 11 points on how to address #genocide & #femicide

➡️ The Forum stated that women should raise their struggle & level of organization, and establish a strong unity between Kurdish, Arab, Yazidi & other women of the region

#SDF forces conducted an operation against Turkish-backed merceneries

➡️ The operation was carried out as an response to the ongoing Turkish attacks on NE-#Syria & the assassination of 4 #YPG fighters in Qamishlo on August 3

➡️ Six Turkish-backed mercenaries have been killed
