So Xiaomi has started blocking off the bootloader unlocking support for older models

Translation:
Around August 5, 2025, Xiaomi shut down the servers for older device models (referring to devices without official UI12 support). The affected devices currently include:
Mix (1st gen)
Devices with Snapdragon 6 series or earlier
Tablets 4th gen and earlier
All Max series
All Note (prior to Redmi self-brand) series
All Redmi 6 series (including Note 6) and earlier devices that have BL (bootloader) lock

For unlocking, do not flash keymaster, or else the device will be permanently bricked and cannot be fixed.

For devices with UI12, UI13, UI14, or OS1, if you need anything, please act quickly. I can’t predict when Xiaomi will shut down the explanation/unlock servers for UI14 as well 🤪🤪🤪

Xiaomi is burned out and won’t recover. Since they’ve already blocked the old phone access route, they clearly have the capability to completely block UI14 unlocking and Q&A access in a short period of time.

Also, the "Fastboot" downgrade method is no longer applicable. Some regions have already fully switched to AVB-verified 9008 downgrading. This method should, in theory, still work as long as the phone is from the Dynamic Partition group (even Snapdragon 860/865 should be usable).

Hi everyone,
I want to share my ongoing nightmare with my Xiaomi 15 (512GB Black) to warn anyone considering buying Xiaomi or using their repair services.

What happened?
I sent my phone twice for repairs to the authorized center Maitrox in Spain.

The initial issue (white line on screen when hot) was “fixed” but created many new problems: bulging rear panel, scratched rear cameras with dust inside, misaligned screen, and persistent network, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth issues.
Despite all the evidence I provided (photos, videos, timestamps), the repair reports often say “no defect detected.”
Xiaomi France keeps refusing refund or exchange and insists on sending the phone back to the same failing center.
I have contacted Xiaomi Global Support, who seem more responsive and have acknowledged the problem. However, the local French support appears unaware or uncooperative.

The worst part:
This situation has dragged on since May 2025, and I am left with a damaged phone and no clear solution. I am forced to use an old device that can’t run most apps, causing real inconvenience and stress.

Warning:
Check the reviews for Maitrox on Trustpilot and Google Maps — I am not the only one facing these issues. Xiaomi France’s refusal to take responsibility is unacceptable and legally questionable.
If you value your time, money, and sanity — think twice before buying or sending your device to Xiaomi’s official repair centers in Spain.
I’m still fighting for a refund or replacement under French consumer law. If you want, I can share all my evidence and communication to help others avoid this nightmare.
