Xiaomi India’s PR Director Is Just as Delulu as Xiaomi Fans

Recently, on Twitter, a few users started talking about Xiaomi’s lack of new launches, for example no news of Xiaomi 15 Civi launch date in India yet and how the brand has been slacking in general. One guy even made a whole thread explaining why Xiaomi India is failing, pointing out issues like keeping better models China exclusive, awful after sales, midrangers like Redmi series offer inferior specs compared to competition, and so on. Others joined in, sharing their own thoughts and experiences, eventually making it a constructive criticism, not just random hate.

Now, Xiaomi India’s Associate Director of Marketing and PR responded, saying it must be a “coincidence” that every year around Xiaomi’s anniversary, people start posting negative things about the brand. He admitted that Xiaomi needs to improve, but he also claimed that some of the criticism seemed biased, calling it a "group work" — as if the users were all working together to bring the brand down. It honestly felt like he was deflecting the blame, saying the criticism wasn’t genuine but part of some coordinated attack. The truth is, people aren’t complaining because of Xiaomi’s anniversary as no one cares about it. They’re frustrated because of real issues the brand has been ignoring for a while.

Interested in knowing what apps are whitelisted on your Lei Jun phone?

Here's a list!
Any package name in this is considered a benchmark app and is provided with higher thermal limits and better performance. Xiaomi even whitelisted their own file explorer 😂

The developers are so goated, they stored it in the system table which anyone can read....

Next up, a tutorial on how to edit this. (If enough people are interested)

And naturally, you can modify any existing app to one of these for better performance on said app if it supports package name changes.

Y'all asked, I listened.

Use ashell you (Shizuku) or anything that's having Android Shell aah privileges

Here's the commands to execute to adjust the lists and temp limits

settings put system rt_pkg_black_list com.android.fileexplorer,com.primatelabs.geekbench4.corporate,com.primatelabs.geekbench5,com.ludashi.benchmark,com.antutu.ABenchMark,com.antutu.ABenchMark.lite,com.futuremark.dmandroid.application,skynet.cputhrottlingtest

You can edit the package names here to include your own apps
For example,
settings put system rt_pkg_black_list com.activision.callofduty.shooter

```
settings put system rt_templimit_bottom 42
```

settings put system rt_templimit_ceiling 45

```
Use these to define the temp limits
Naturally cancer apps like joyose or game turbo (also battery and performance for your FPS restrictions with temp) might interfere with this as they have separate whitelists
So disable those as needed
Enjoy!
Xiaomi Downgrade Appointments Turning Into Sprint Practice
In China, Xiaomi made bootloader unlock requirements so ridiculous that users are now booking downgrade appointments, waiting for the technician to flash firmware, and then grabbing their phones mid-process and running out the door – sometimes literally on electric scooters.
Why? Because once it’s flashed and before it relocks, the bootloader is temporarily open – and that's the only chance to escape Xiaomi’s UBL prison without having Level 5 community status, quiz passes, and a handshake from Lei Jun himself.
Most of them brick the phone after anyway. But hey, freedom.
Also, A Dude bought a Xiaomi 14 not knowing bootloader unlock is locked behind quizzes, high community level, and limited slots.
He booked a downgrade at service, waited for the BL to be temporarily open mid-flash – then snatched his phone, said “sorry,” and ran out.
Electric scooter was parked outside 💀
Then the guy who did that bricked the phone in the end. He regretted about what he did and hoped the customer service could unbrick the phone, but was refused.
The guy said, "I'll give it to my parent once it's unbricked, and I'll consider another Xiaomi phone next time."
Everyone already heard of Chinese people coming into Xiaomi service centers to ask for a rollback and snatch their device while it's bootloader unlocked for the procedure.
It looks realistic and if it were fake, Chinese nerd friends would likely tell me. But that creates two interesting conclusions:
1. Either EDL rollback is broken or these service centers often have a hardware/software/skill issue regarding it. A friend of mine had a personal experience where this happened and he needed to help them.
2. Instant bootloader unlock capability is still given to Chinese service centers like candy. The only reason of why it costs 100$+ now on the gray market is either the gray market's incapability of finding enough service centers to bribe or lack of skill to generate and capture the unlock keys covertly. Telemetry on service center PCs may log and report the situations where an unlock isn't followed by a lock and especially log any kind of USB redirection software.
Other possibility is that the unlock state of individual devices is tracked directly whenever these users keep running HOS. Especially if their data says they're clearly abroad or running a global stock, it can be near-impossible to expect gray market's end users to protect the origin of service they're relying on through countless middlemen.
So, you want your Chinese Xiaomi unlocked for free? Befriend a Xiaomi service center guy in China, give them your device, let them unlock, figure out something to backup the unlock key or spoof the bootloader screen and add a fake fastboot so that the lock is never executed. Then right afterwards flash AOSP. Your Xiaomi friend will be safe.
Oooor alternatively, if you overpaid for a global unit and live in EU, just try the snatching technique, it's probably legal. You're not stealing any license, you're just taking back your property. This time you'll save 40-80€, still good.
Here's why Xiaomi removed the Manual Rotation Button for Tablets
Rotation hint was present in HyperOS 1 on tablets but Xiaomi removed it in hyperOS 2 because "Can't integrate the rotation suggestion feature because we can't create a "harmony" on the design in the button" my ass
Lei Jun got sent to the past in a time machine!
Yep, you've heard it here first.
In a time where Android 16 has been gracing our phones and is in a stable release state, they're launching a phone with.... Android 14
They are promising 2+4 OS and 4 years of security updates, but let's be real, they should advertise just 2 years of security patches, because those 2 OS updates are gone in just catching up to the time and getting Mr Lei back into the present. 💔💔💔🥀
