There’s no rule of thumb in this conversation about the gender role or who needs to provide and at what extent. It highly depends on your situation and we shouldn’t rob people of the chance of being creative about the house they build together.
It all comes down to what you and your girlfriend want and makes sense to you both. Some couple love the traditional companionship. Others would want to explore the egalitarian approach. Some are religious. Others are not.
The way I think about it tho:
Don’t you think it would offend your girlfriend if you just say keep your money, but my money is yours? Like why?
Like in this video, I don’t think this is a very healthy way of seeing your wife.
