On a summer after Grade 9, my friends and I were called for this mindset training program, and one of the activities we were required to participate in was preparing a vision board.

In it, I specified that I would have 2 kids and named them Kidus and Raey. I was being poetic about their names. Because Kidus Yohannes and Raey Yohannes would definitely make so much sense to anyone calling my kids and I was pretty sure I’d have a son and daughter. The point of the training was the power of the law of attraction so I was being delusional about it.

Of course, one of my visions on the board was joining med school and that didn’t happen.
