Despite not being an only child (I am the eldest at home), I feel this also applies to me. You have no idea how hard it is not to feel the pressure of keeping up with a momentum I picked as a kid and avoiding disappointment.

Mom and my cousins try to remind me there is nothing to prove or no reason to attempt to give back, because the things my parents did to raise me were part of the contract they signed on by bringing me to the world. I fail to understand it or even sit with that conclusion tho.
