經以下方式場外參與大戰者，可獲頒發大戰奬章：
大戰情報員/指揮
大戰情報解碼員
有組織的充電行動
場外參與大戰者必須事先與個別大戰城市其所屬陣營聯絡人(POC)協調，落實頒發大戰奬章的資格。就各城市及陣營個別情況，各聯絡人(POC)可從權決定頒發大戰奬章的門檻。然而，捐贈物資，待機協防，及其他不在上列的參與方法，俱不符合頒發資格。
場外參與大戰者毌須在Niantic活動頁上登記。
在各場大戰期間，Niantic將會監錄所有向戰區內能量塔充電的動作，自首計分時段始至尾計分時段終。大戰後，Niantic將會向陣營聯絡人(POC)提供該陣營監錄所得的特工名稱及相關充電數。陣營聯絡人(POC)當從中挑選符合資格者並交Niantic頒發大戰奬章。
陣營聯絡人(POC)亦當另行表列符合資格的大戰情報員及解碼員，並交Niantic頒發大戰奬章。
