💜 Study the example of a good essay scoring 7.5

💜Pay attention to the structure, advanced grammatical constructions, vocabulary, and the coherence of the response.

💜 We have highlighted the key words in bold and also underlined the introductory words.

💜 The rise of social media has affected personal relationships and society as a whole. Do the advantages of using social media for communication outweigh the disadvantages

💜💜Connections between humans are deeply impacted as social media increases in popularity. The reason is mainly due to the convenience it offers and how easy it is to form a relationship which outweigh the drawbacks despite the possibility of deterioration in communication skills and lack of physical interaction.

💜 To begin with, social media comes in with great conveniences. From keeping in touch with familiars to catching up with the latest news and trends, as they have an effective algorithm that records track of contents the user likes and then brings others with the same mind together, people would never worry about getting bored. An example of this is Reddit, a platform that provides different groups and topics, from vast hobbies like art or reading to a thing as small as an indie game, users from all over the world join in to talk about their interests.

💜 What is more, social platforms give people chances to make friends through the most unexpected circumstances. As the internet is spread all around the world, it is possible for everyone of any ethnicity and race to cross the path, just with a few clicks and scroll. For instance, the app Discord which is widely used among gamers with a diverse range of age, people could just simply join a channel and start conversations just like in real life, some users admit that it is even easier for them to do so.

💜 However, there are some criticisms about this method of socializing. Critics worry that the easy and convenient way of forming relationships like this could damage the skill of making acquaintances as people seem not to want to engage in physical meetings in real life. This is a reasonable argument, but they may not noticed that there have been a lot of events and offline meet-ups that were held by friends over the internet. Social media then is in fact beneficial to providing the possibility for physical communication skills and improvement. Likewise, the drawbacks are by far not a great concern.

💜 All in all, the positive side of the uprising state of social media outweighs its downside. Furthermore, It is clear that that the advantages of social media are greater than the disadvantages that it brings.💜

📚 Analysis of the IELTS Writing Part 2 Response: Fixed Income to Support Charity

💡 Study the task and read the student's response text, translating any new words.

✈️ Everybody should donate a fixed amount of their income to support charity. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

⏪️1️⃣ The concept of philanthropy and charitable giving has gained significant attention in recent years. One prominent viewpoint suggests that everyone should contribute a fixed portion of their income to support charitable causes, although I would side with those holding the opposite opinion.

2️⃣ Charitable donations play a pivotal role in addressing poverty. When individuals allocate a fixed portion of their income, it ensures a steady flow of resources to organizations dedicated to poverty alleviation. For example, groups like Oxfam and UNICEF rely on public donations to implement projects that provide food, clean water, and healthcare services to impoverished communities. The consistent support from individuals enables these organizations to make a lasting impact, uplifting vulnerable populations and offering them a chance for a better future.

3️⃣ While the recommendation of mandatory donations has its merits, it is essential to acknowledge that individuals have diverse financial situations and priorities. Forcing every individual to donate a fixed portion of their income can be seen an infringement on personal freedom. In placing this burden on citizens, there may be a resultant backlash that does more harm than the originally intended good. Relatedly, it is important to recognize that there are alternative ways of supporting charitable causes, such as volunteering time and skills. Encouraging a culture of giving without imposing strict regulations may allow individuals to better choose the method that aligns with their personal circumstances and values.

4️⃣ In conclusion, the contention that everyone should donate a fixed amount of their income to support charity aligns with the ideal of an equitable society. However, it is crucial to consider individual circumstances and preferences, ensuring that the act of giving remains a voluntary and personally meaningful endeavor.⏩️

👩 IELTS Essay. Writing part 2. Traffic Problems

📑Traffic and housing problems could be solved by moving large companies, factories, and their employees to the countryside. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

☑️ Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words.

◀️1️⃣These days with increasing urban populations, there are major problems with congestion and not only the price but also availability of accommodation in large cities of the world. It seems that one possible solution could be to relocate large companies and factories as well as their respective employees out of these urban areas and into more rural ones. I strongly agree that this would have a positive effect in making cities more livable.

2️⃣To begin with, the traffic problem in cities doesn’t only exist from commuting employees, but also the general public travelling around the city. While this may be a fact, if the number of worker’s vehicles is reduced on city streets, a large percentage of traffic will obviously decline in rush hours. For example, peak hour traffic is undoubtedly made up largely of staff from companies going to and from home.

3️⃣Secondly, in regards to housing problems, populations will always continue to grow in cities and therefore inadvertently decrease the number of cheap and available apartments. This is certainly obvious, however, a large proportion of these apartments are occupied by employees from large firms and their families. If this workforce is relocated to housing estates in the country, city apartment blocks will fall in price and certainly increase in availability.

4️⃣In conclusion, by relocating workers to rural areas to work and reside, heavy traffic conditions and lack of adequate accommodation in city centres will obviously change for the better. As far as I’m concerned, I agree that the government should enforce such a law in order to increase our standard of living in our hectic city life.▶️

🍦🐘🦙🧑‍🏫🌞 Writing Task 2 Sample Answer: Transportation

🇫🇷 Transportation is such a common topic – you are likely to hear about it in the listening or read about it in the reading test.
It may also come up on the speaking!

📎Make sure you take a close look at the sample answer as well as all the vocabulary exercises below as they may be able to help all parts of your IELTS score!

📌 IELTS Sample Answer: Transportation ⬇️

➖Some people think that governments should invest mainly in making public transportation faster while other think there are more important priorities (cost, the environment). Discuss both views and give your own opinion. ➖

⏪ 1⃣ While many are of the opinion that the most important factor in public transport is speed, others value areas such as cost and the environment. In my opinion, although there are a number of key considerations, speed is by far the most important.

2⃣ Two of the most commonly addressed areas of public transport are cost and the environment. In Vietnam, the quality of the public transport buses is very low and they produce a lot of air pollution. However, they are very cheap and this allows the residents who need them the most, typically students and low-wage earners, to afford them. In an ideal world the government would have cheap buses that produce little exhaust, but cost and environmental concerns will always be in conflict. In developing countries, it makes sense to emphasise the expense of tickets while developed countries have the wealth and responsibility to try to better balance these competing policy influences.

3⃣ Although these are worthwhile considerations, speed of transport should be the main rationale as it has a trickle down effect on the economy and quality of life of a country. For example, Japan has a famously fast and efficient system of railways both inside cities and connecting provinces within the country. If someone has a family, faster transport allows them to spend more time with their family both before and after work. This can enhance the quality of life of working class people. It also means that they will get to work faster, get more work done during the day and have more time to recuperate for the next day. Over years and decades this has hastened Japan’s development into one of the world’s leading economies.

4⃣ In my opinion, cost and the environment are crucial for ordinary people and the future of our planet but speed has a greater effect on people in both the short and long-term. Governments that focus on faster public transport will reap the rewards for decades and be able to reinvest that money in areas like the environment, education, and healthcare. ⏩
