🌟Writing Task 2 ( Essay)

Agree or Disagree [Band: 9.0]

βœ… Q: Some people believe that the government should invest more in public transportation instead of building new roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

βœ… Answer:

There is an ongoing debate about whether governments should prioritise investment in public transportation rather than allocating substantial resources to the construction of new roads. Although expanding road networks can be beneficial in certain circumstances, I strongly agree that public transport should receive greater financial support because it can reduce congestion, improve accessibility and contribute to more sustainable urban development.

The most compelling reason for prioritising public transportation is its potential to alleviate traffic congestion. As urban populations continue to grow, relying predominantly on private cars inevitably places enormous pressure on existing road networks. By contrast, an efficient system of buses, trains and underground railways can transport large numbers of passengers while occupying considerably less road space. If public transport is frequent, affordable and reliable, commuters are more likely to leave their cars at home, thereby reducing the number of vehicles on overcrowded roads. Consequently, investment in public transport can address the underlying causes of congestion rather than simply creating additional space for traffic.

Another important advantage is that a well-developed public transport network can promote greater social and environmental sustainability. Not everyone can afford to own and maintain a private vehicle, particularly students, elderly people and those on lower incomes. Affordable public transport therefore provides these groups with better access to education, employment and essential services. Furthermore, encouraging people to use shared forms of transportation can reduce fuel consumption and emissions, helping cities tackle air pollution and their wider environmental challenges.

Nevertheless, this does not mean that governments should stop building roads altogether. New roads may be necessary in rapidly developing areas where existing infrastructure is inadequate, and they can improve connections between regions. However, continuously expanding road capacity is unlikely to be a long-term solution if the number of private vehicles continues to rise.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that governments should give greater priority to public transportation than to constructing new roads. While road development remains necessary in some circumstances, a reliable and accessible public transport system offers a more effective long-term response to congestion, inequality and environmental problems.

🌟 IELTS Writing Task 2 ( ESSAY)

Cause & Solution [Band: 9.0]

βœ… Question: Fewer young people play sports these days. Why is that? What can be done to encourage more young people to do sports?

βœ… Sample Answer:
In many countries, an increasing number of young people are becoming less involved in physical activities than previous generations. This trend can largely be attributed to the growing appeal of digital entertainment and increasingly sedentary lifestyles. However, it can be reversed if schools, governments and families work together to make regular exercise more accessible and appealing to young people.

One major reason for this decline is the amount of time teenagers spend using digital devices. Social media, online games and streaming platforms provide convenient forms of entertainment that can easily occupy several hours of a young person's day. As a result, physical activity is often replaced by activities that require little or no movement. Another contributing factor is the pressure associated with modern education. Many students spend long periods completing homework or preparing for examinations, leaving them with limited time and energy for sport. In addition, some communities lack affordable and well-maintained sports facilities, making regular participation difficult for young people from less affluent families.

Several measures could be introduced to address this problem. Schools should make physical education more engaging by offering a wider variety of activities rather than concentrating solely on traditional competitive sports. For instance, students could choose from swimming, cycling, martial arts, athletics or team games according to their interests. Governments could also invest in public sports facilities and provide free or inexpensive programmes for teenagers. Finally, parents can encourage active lifestyles by limiting excessive recreational screen time and participating in physical activities with their children. These measures would make exercise a more enjoyable and accessible part of young people's daily lives.

In conclusion, the decline in youth participation in sport is primarily caused by the attraction of digital entertainment, academic pressures and limited access to suitable facilities. By making physical education more varied, improving public infrastructure and encouraging healthier routines at home, societies can motivate more young people to become physically active.

🌟IELTS Writing Task 2 ( ESSAY)

Discussion Essay [ Band 9.0 ]

βœ… Q: Some people believe that children should begin learning a foreign language at primary school, while others think it is better to start at secondary school. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

βœ… Answer:

The question of when children should begin learning a foreign language has generated considerable debate. While some people argue that primary school is the most appropriate stage, others believe that students should wait until secondary education. Although both perspectives have merit, I believe that introducing a foreign language at primary school is more beneficial because younger children tend to acquire pronunciation and basic communication skills more naturally.

Those who favour beginning at secondary school often point to the greater academic maturity of older students. Teenagers are generally better able to understand grammatical rules, analyse complex linguistic structures and study independently. As a result, they may progress rapidly once formal language instruction begins. Furthermore, secondary-school students often have a clearer understanding of why they are learning a foreign language, particularly if it is relevant to their future education or career. This awareness can encourage them to approach lessons more seriously and maintain consistent study habits.

On the other hand, there are strong arguments for introducing foreign languages during primary education. Young children are typically more receptive to unfamiliar sounds and can develop pronunciation and listening skills without becoming overly concerned about making mistakes. Language learning at this age can also be incorporated into games, songs and interactive activities, making the process enjoyable rather than academically demanding. More importantly, starting early gives learners several additional years to practise the language, allowing them to develop greater fluency by the time they reach adulthood.

In my view, the advantages of early language education outweigh the benefits of postponing it until secondary school. However, the effectiveness of such programmes depends heavily on teaching methods. If primary-school pupils are subjected to excessive grammar exercises or examination pressure, their natural enthusiasm may disappear. Instead, lessons should focus initially on communication, vocabulary and exposure to authentic spoken language, with more complex grammatical instruction introduced gradually as students mature.

In conclusion, although secondary-school students may have greater cognitive maturity and a stronger academic motivation, beginning foreign-language education at primary school provides a longer learning period and allows children to develop more natural linguistic abilities. Therefore, I believe that foreign languages should be introduced at an early stage, provided that teaching is engaging and age-appropriate.

🌟 IELTS Writing Task 2

Causes/Reasons + Advantages & Disadvantages [ Band 9.0]

βœ… Q: An increasing number of people are undergoing cosmetic surgery. Why do you think they are doing this? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?

βœ…Answer:
The growing popularity of cosmetic surgery can be attributed largely to unrealistic beauty standards and people's desire to feel more confident about their appearance. Although such procedures can improve an individual's quality of life, they also involve medical and psychological risks. In my view, cosmetic surgery can be beneficial when undertaken for well-considered reasons, but excessive reliance on it is problematic.

One major reason for the increasing demand for cosmetic procedures is the influence of social media. People are constantly exposed to carefully edited images of celebrities, influencers and even their peers, which can create unrealistic expectations of physical attractiveness. As a result, those who feel insecure about a particular feature may view surgery as a means of achieving an appearance closer to the idealised images they see online. In addition, some individuals have lived with dissatisfaction about their appearance for years and believe that changing a particular feature will enable them to feel more comfortable and confident in social situations.

There are several potential benefits to cosmetic surgery. A successful procedure can significantly enhance self-esteem, particularly for people whose appearance has been a persistent source of insecurity. For example, someone who has avoided social interaction because of a physical feature may become more confident after having it corrected. However, the disadvantages are equally important. Surgery carries inherent risks, including infection, complications and unsatisfactory results. More importantly, it cannot necessarily resolve underlying psychological dissatisfaction. A person who becomes preoccupied with achieving an idealised appearance may undergo repeated procedures without ever feeling satisfied, resulting in both financial difficulties and further emotional distress.

In conclusion, cosmetic surgery is becoming more common mainly because of appearance-focused social media and people's desire to overcome insecurities. While it can provide meaningful improvements in confidence and well-being, its medical risks and potential to reinforce unrealistic beauty expectations mean that it should be approached with caution and realistic expectations

❀️ Question:
The line graph below shows changes in the amount and type of fast food consumed by Australian teenagers from 1975 to 2000.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words
.

❀️Answer :
The line graph illustrates changes in the frequency with which Australian teenagers consumed three types of fast foodβ€”pizza, hamburgers, and fish and chipsβ€”between 1975 and 2000.

Overall, the consumption of hamburgers and pizza increased substantially over the period, whereas the figure for fish and chips followed the opposite trend. Notably, fish and chips were the most popular choice at the beginning of the period, but hamburgers became the most frequently consumed item by 2000.

In 1975, Australian teenagers ate fish and chips approximately 100 times per year, compared with only around 20 occasions for both pizza and hamburgers. The consumption of fish and chips then declined slightly to about 85 times in 1980, before recovering to roughly 95 in 1985. After that, however, it fell steadily and reached approximately 40 times per year by 2000.

By contrast, hamburger consumption rose consistently throughout the period. Starting at around 10–15 times annually in 1975, the figure increased gradually during the following decade and then climbed much more sharply, reaching about 100 occasions by 1995 and approximately 110 by 2000. Pizza consumption also increased, although at a less dramatic rate. From roughly 5 occasions per year in 1975, it rose steadily to around 85 by 1995, after which it remained relatively stable.

❀️ Question:
The charts below provide information about the percentages of volunteers in different sectors in 2008 and 2014.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

❀️ Answer:
The two pie charts illustrate the proportions of volunteers involved in six different sectorsβ€”education, environment, art, sport, health care, and other areasβ€”in 2008 and 2014.

Overall, the environmental and sports sectors experienced notable growth over the period, whereas the proportions of volunteers in education, art and other sectors declined. Although education accounted for the largest share in 2008, environmental work became the leading area in 2014. Health care remained the smallest sector despite a modest increase.

In 2008, education attracted the highest proportion of volunteers, at 24%, followed by the environmental sector at 21%. Art accounted for 18%, while both sport and other sectors represented 15% each. By comparison, only 6% of volunteers were involved in health care.

Six years later, the proportion volunteering in environmental activities had risen considerably to 29%, making it the largest category. Sport also saw substantial growth, increasing from 15% to 25%. In contrast, the figure for education fell moderately to 17%, while participation in art declined to 12%. The proportion in other sectors decreased from 15% to 9%. Finally, health care experienced a slight rise, reaching 8% in 2014.

βœ… Question:
The bar chart below provides information about the numbers of Australian students who studied in five different countries between 2004 and 2006.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

βœ… Answer:
The bar chart illustrates the numbers of Australian students who studied in five different overseas destinationsβ€”the USA, New Zealand, the UK, Germany and Japanβ€”between 2004 and 2006.

Overall, the USA and New Zealand were by far the most popular destinations throughout the period, whereas Germany and Japan attracted considerably fewer Australian students. The number of students studying in the USA increased steadily and remained the highest figure, while all five countries experienced relatively modest changes overall.

In 2004, approximately 2,600 Australian students studied in the USA, making it the leading destination. New Zealand followed closely, with around 2,500 students, while the UK attracted about 1,500. By contrast, Germany and Japan recorded substantially lower figures, at roughly 300 and 400 students respectively.

Over the following two years, the number of Australian students in the USA rose steadily, reaching approximately 2,800 in 2006. New Zealand also experienced gradual growth, finishing at around 2,600 students. The UK saw a smaller increase, from about 1,500 to 1,600 students, and subsequently remained relatively stable. Meanwhile, Germany fluctuated slightly before ending at approximately 400 students. Japan followed a similar pattern, with its figure dipping marginally in 2005 before returning to around 400 by 2006.
