ዶ/ር የሮም ጌታቸው እባላለሁ። ከስድስት ዓመት በላይ በህክምና ሙያ ውስጥ ሕሙማንን በማከም፣ የተሰበሩ ቤተሰቦችን በማጽናናት እና ለብዙዎች ተስፋ በመሆን ኖሬያለሁ። በስራዬ ምክንያት ብዙ ወላጆች በልጆቻቸው አልጋ አጠገብ ሲያለቅሱ አይቻለሁ፣ ብዙ ሰዎች ሕይወትን ለማትረፍ ሲታገሉ ተመልክቻለሁ።

ዛሬ ግን ያ አባት እኔ ሆኛለሁ።

የ3 ዓመት ከ6 ወር ህፃን ልጄ በአጥንት ካንሰር ተጠቅቶ ከባድ የህክምና ፈተና ውስጥ ይገኛል። በየቀኑ ህመሙን ሲታገል ማየት፣ የልጄን ስቃይ እያየሁ ምንም ማድረግ አለመቻሌ ልቤን ይሰብረዋል።

እንደ ሀኪም የበሽታውን ስም አውቃለሁ። እንደ አባት ግን የልጄን ህመም እሸከማለሁ።

ልጄ ሕይወቱን ለማትረፍ ወደ ውጭ ሀገር ሄዶ ልዩ የአጥንት ቀዶ ጥገና እና ተከታታይ ህክምና ማድረግ ያስፈልገዋል። ለዚህም ከ3.5 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ ወጪ ተጠይቆብናል።

እኔ ሀኪም መሆኔ፣ ህዝቤን ለበርካታ አመታት በቅንነት ማገልገሌ ይህን ወጪ ለመሸፈን አላስቻለኝም።

በሀገራችን ያለው የጤና ስርዓት በብዙ ፈተናዎች ውስጥ እያለፈ ነው። የጤና ባለሙያዎች ሌት ተቀን የሕዝብ ሕይወትን ለማዳን ቢተጉም፣ የሚያገኙት ገቢ እና ድጋፍ ብዙ ጊዜ ከሚሸከሙት ኃላፊነት ጋር አይመጣጠንም። ሌሎችን የምናክም እጆቻችን፣ የራሳችንን ልጆች ለማዳን ሲያንሱ ማየት እጅግ ያማል።

የሕክምና ልብሴ ልጄን ከስቃዩ አልሸፈነልኝም። የዶክተርነት ማዕረጌም የልጄን ህመም አላስቆመውም። ዛሬ በፊታችሁ የቆምኩት እንደ ዶክተር ሳይሆን፣ ልጁን ለማጣት የሚፈራ አባት ሆኜ ነው።

ስለዚህ ውድ ወገኖቼ፣ ልጄ የመኖር እድል እንዲያገኝ፣ እና በድጋሚ ሳቁን እንድናይ በአቅማችሁ የምትችሉትን እርዳታ እንድታደርጉልኝ ከልብ እጠይቃለሁ።

ለእናንተ ትንሽ የሚመስለው አስተዋፅኦ ለልጄ ግን ሕይወት ሊሆን ይችላል።
