Iran, worst hit by COVID in region, says half its population fully vaccinated

(Note: we will track this if possible to compare to the British data we analyzed HERE where we showed new cases are substantially higher in the vaccinated and deaths are higher in certain age groups after taking the jab)

Iran announced Saturday it has now fully vaccinated 44 million people, more than half of its population of 85 million. The country has been hit the worst by the pandemic in the Middle East.

The Iranian Health Ministry said that 44 million people have received two doses of the vaccine. Iran has recorded at least 128,000 deaths since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and has been the hardest hit by the pandemic in the region. The ministry also announced that there have been more than 3,500 new cases of infections in the past 24 hours, as well as 118 deaths. (Source)

Pulling Back the Curtain on China’s Maritime Militia

Since completing the construction of its artificial island outposts in the Spratly Islands in 2016, China has shifted its focus toward asserting control over activity across the region. A key component has been the expansion of CCP maritime militia—a force ostensibly engaged in commercial fishing but which operate alongside CCP law enforcement and military to achieve political objectives in disputed waters.

The Center for Advanced Defense Studies conducted a study of CCP maritime militia using remote sensing data and open-source Chinese language research. The resulting report features the most comprehensive study to date of the structure, subsidies, and ownership networks of CCP maritime militia in the South China Sea, as well as a methodology for identifying Chinese maritime militia vessels and a list of over 120 militia vessels thus identified. Drones, drones everywhere

The Kadhimi assassination attempt shows that small drones in the hands of terrorists or insurgents pose a particularly nasty problem.

When the bomb is released, it spins a propeller-like apparatus that arms the device, which explodes on impact. This is loaded into a cuplike holder that is “tipped over” to release the munition. The bombs themselves carried what is known as a “shaped charge,” designed to penetrate armor or other protection rather than simply scattering shrapnel.

Improvised suicide drones have been used for several decades and the Islamic State have been quick to adopt the technology and the tactics. The “quadcopter,” familiar to millions, has four vertically mounted props that stabilize the drone, is far more accurate than the insurgents’ first wave of drone attacks, which often were small flying-wing-style aircraft that dropped recycled mortar rounds as they passed over a target. As of November 17, 2021, 96.7% of active-duty Sailors are fully immunized, and 99.7% received at least one dose of the vaccine. 85.5% of reserve Sailors are fully immunized and 88.6% of reserve Sailors have received at least one dose of the vaccine. 93.3% of the total force is fully immunized and 96.7% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

14,911 have received one dose of the covid-19 vaccine.

14,472 have not receive any dose of the covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 29,383 US Navy Active and reserves have yet to be fully vaccinated. (Source)

Ground Shaking Explosions Likely This Weekend in New Jersey

Ground shaking explosions are likely to occur in New Jersey this weekend and into early next week, and local officials in the region don’t want residents to be too alarmed. Unlike the recent natural activity triggered by severe thunderstorms and/or earthquakes, the ground shaking in the coming days is the result of a large scale military drill scheduled in the Garden State.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is hosting a live fire military drill in which mortar fire, howitzer fire, and cratering explosions will be employed. In an announcement to the public, the base said the drill will create “abundant noise”, which is the highest level of three categories of noise/movement the base uses to inform neighboring communities of what to expect there. COVID-19: Stigmatizing the Unvaccinated is Not Justified

There is increasing evidence that vaccinated individuals continue to have a relevant role in transmission. In Massachusetts a total of 469 new cases were detected during various events in July, 2021, and 346 (74%) of these cases were in people who were fully or partly vaccinated, 274 (79%) of whom were symptomatic. Cycle threshold values were similarly low between people who were fully vaccinated and people who were unvaccinated, not fully vaccinated, or whose vaccination status was unknown, indicating a high viral load even among people who were fully vaccinated.

In the USA, a total of 10,262 cases were reported in vaccinated people by April 30, 2021, of whom 2725 (26.6%) were asymptomatic, 995 (9.7%) were hospitalised, and 160 (1.6%) died. In Germany, 55.4% of symptomatic cases in patients aged 60 years or older were in fully vaccinated individuals, and this proportion is increasing each week. (Source)
