CALTECH HAS BUILT AN AGILE HUMANOID ROBOT BY COMBINING LEGS WITH THRUSTERS
At Caltech’s Autonomous Systems and Technologies (CAST), researchers have developed a new robot called the LEg ON Aerial Robotic DrOne, or Leonardo, which in addition to having one of the most creative acronyms we’ve seen in a while, combined a bipedal robot with a dronelike thruster system for balancing, agility, and the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

The Willow Project, a Trump-approved Alaska oil project that would have created 1000s of jobs and $10bn in govt revenue, is now dead in the water.
A federal judge ruled that the Trump administration didn’t adequately consider greenhouse gas emissions when it approved the plan. The Biden administration initially defended the Willow approval, but Tuesday was the deadline for an appeal and the government didn’t file one.
Lawyers for green groups lauded Biden’s “positive steps” towards cleaner energy - despite the DoJ accusing activists of “cherry-picking” govt records.
Alaska Sen Dan Sullivan claimed the move won’t help the environment, as it will benefit our adversaries that produce oil, like Russia, Venezuela and Iran, whose environmental standards are some of the worst in the world. [ Article ]

The American Meteor Society (AMS) received 59 reports1 from users in Arkansan, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Alabama. Engineers at LG and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft have recently demonstrated 6G transmission across a new distance record.
Once 6G is eventually deployed worldwide, the main benefits over 5G will be quicker data transfer rates and reduced latencies. At its peak, 6G data rates should be 50 times faster than 5G, while latency is expected to drop to around 10% of 5G’s. NASA will launch a mission dubbed the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) to test out methods of potentially deflecting any future Earthbound asteroid. DART is slated to launch on November 24 (or as late as February 2022) and will take a year in transit to reach its target: Dimorphos. This stadium-size asteroid orbits a much more giant asteroid called Didymos. To be clear, the solution to this would be to create engaging, warm and stimulating conditions for children as much as possible. Community is key, meaningful connection is key. We’re not stuck with this result, but it’s unlikely government will suggest anything meaningful to address what’s happening. According to new research, they are actually connected and are made of long, magnetized, parallel filaments; this connection forms what looks like a tunnel around our Solar System. “If we were to look up in the sky, we would see this tunnel-like structure in just about every direction we looked — that is, if we had eyes that could see radio light,” said Dr. Jennifer West, an astronomer at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. Assuming the result is correct, the most likely explanation is that a new force that pulls on electrons and muons with different strengths is interfering with how these beauty quarks decay.
