Man who gave microwave artificial intelligence claims it tried to cook him to death
YouTuber Lucas Rizzotto said the family microwave was his imaginary childhood friend which he tried to resurrect by fitting a new one with artificial intelligence during a bizarre experiment.
YouTuber Lucas Rizzotto claims he decided to fit the kitchen appliance with voice-controlled AI in a bid to resurrect his childhood imaginary friend "Magnetron", which used to be the family microwave.
As a child, Lucas explained, he thought Magnetron was an English gentleman and a WW1 veteran, the Daily Star reports.
To carry out the experiment, he bought a new microwave and wrote a 100-page book detailing every moment of Magnetron's "life" and fed this to the AI.
Lucas said: "This document contained memories from his entire life - from his 1895 birth all the way to when we met when I was a kid.

New E-Skin Can Sense Touch Via Tiny Magnetic Hairs
To create their e-skin, the researchers implanted tiny magnetic hairs into an elastomeric material. These artificial hairs contain bulbous roots that sit below the e-skin’s surface and move around when the hair above is touched, just like natural hairs. These roots are surrounded by a 3D magnetic sensor, which allows the root’s exact location to be tracked in real-time. This enables the entire sensor matrix to detect that a hair has been touched and the direction of that touch across the e-skin.
According to the team, fabricating these magnetic sensors in bulk sheets is relatively easy. They can then fold themselves into 3D boxes to contain the hair roots through a process known as micro-origami.
