Ukrainian Resource Curse: Possibly being autonomous was leading to worse outcomes

UA has enormous natural resources both agricultural output and mineral deposits. Some of the richest in the world. Yet they are one of the poorest countries and have a low standard of living. That is a hallmark of corruption. Political science has a term for this: the natural resources curse. Look it up, that’s the buzzword.

Their core problem until last week was that they are so resource rich that neither the west or Russia want that flow going to the other. Neither do they want the Ukraine to become prosperous and powerful in their own right.

Ukraine could be as wealthy as Saudi Arabia if they ended the extraction of profit to foreign multinationals and created a corruption resistant collective action mechanism for control of their natural resources and economy.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 would then have one positive potential outcome: a very powerful country. The irony is of course that such similar circumstances enabled the rise of the Nazi party in Germany throughout the 30s, a not so positive outcome which Russia has alluded to as justification for the kinetic military action.

But this negative outcome is much worse that German Nazism was. It’s a hybrid of arming radicals like we did with ISIS in Syria to overthrow a regime accompanied by a very ‘legitimate’ nationalist narrative. Legitimate in this sense is explained by the status currently held by the Nazi divisions of Ukrainian army like Azov and their auxiliary social organizations.

Picture an awfully ironic scenario where the Ukrainian people realise they are being fucked from both sides leading to a further (understandable) rise in ultra nationalist sentiment. This sentiment is easily subsumed into the well established neo nazi movement and rapidly, with flourishing economic growth like our projected outcomes stated, the nationalist discipline has a natural change into conquering its neighbors. Given people love to be told what to do and love to be charismatically led, this is very, very fucking dangerous in respect of creating a new ultra nationalist economic powerhouse.

When considering these outcomes it makes sense to pragmatically let Russia take the risks of self preservation. Further, blatant NWO support calling for the return to status quo should signal warnings of its importance to the rise of Marxist or nihilistic outcomes. By steering clear of this entanglement we would allow the security concerns of Moscow to be addressed, and not antagonize relationships that will ultimately need to be rebuilt.

As I’ve covered, The EU’s Farm-to-Fork program demands farmers not farm all their land in order to continue receiving subsidies (required to be economically viable). The more they don’t cultivate the more money they get.

Germany‘s agriculture minister Cem Özdemir has just confirmed that the EU‘s reforms are to remain in force despite the fact that Ukraine/Russia’s grains, seeds and fertilizer have been cut off.

German farmers are outraged. You do not have to speak his language to feel this man’s passion or understand the urgency and insanity of the situation.
