Large and significant winter storm to impact central and northeastern U.S.
A major winter storm is set to bring disruptive snow and ice accumulations from the Rockies and the Heartland to the Great Lakes beginning Tuesday night, February 1, 2022, and continuing through Thursday morning, February 3. Significant disruptions to travel are anticipated in these affected regions. Bitterly cold temperatures will follow the wintry precipitation.
The storm will bring a variety of winter weather hazards including heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
This will be a prolonged storm with several rounds of winter weather lasting through February 3 before shifting to the interior Northeast.

Very bright fireball over Morocco
This impressive fireball was recorded over Morocco at 02:16 UTC on January 30, 2022. It was as bright as the full Moon.
The event was generated by a rock (a meteoroid) from a comet that hit the atmosphere at about 255 000 km/h (158 450 mph).
It began at an altitude of about 146 km (91 miles) over Oulad Sidi Abd el Hakem (eastern Morocco), moved northwest, and ended at a height of around 62 km (38 miles) over Tafersit (northeastern Morocco).

State Rep. Deb Conroy (Democrat) wants to "isolate or quarantine persons who are unable or unwilling to receive vaccines, medications, or other treatments."

HB 4640 is scheduled to be heard in the Illinois House Human Services Committee February 2 at 9:00 AM.
If HB 4640 were to become law, persons could be held by Public Health Dept, in a "contained atmosphere" with guards. Some are equating this to a concentration camp.
The bill says:
The Public Health Dept may isolate or quarantine persons whose refusal to undergo observation and monitoring results in uncertainty regarding whether he or she has been exposed to or is infected with a contagious or infectious disease OR otherwise deemed as "posing a danger to the public's health."
HB 4640 would also set up a state data collection system to track citizens. [ Article ]
