SOMETHING STINKS IN THE ILLINOIS GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
It appears that senior members of the Pritzker admin, including potentially the governor and his wife, may have facilitated a fraud on the state by a now-indicted former campaign aide. This is a tangled web:
▪︎The former exec director of the Illinois State Police Merit Board, Jack Garcia, discovered evidence that Jenny Thornley, was stealing money from the people of the state.
▪︎After assembling the evidence, Garcia scheduled meetings to fire Thornley and refer to prosecution
▪︎However, Thornley contacted (at least) the governor's wife (pictured left) and asked her to intervene, alleging that Garcia had assaulted her
▪︎In the meantime, someone in the Pritzker admin worked with Democrat members in the legislature to insert — in the middle of the night – a provision into legislation to fire Garcia

At least 4 killed as powerful storm dumps record-breaking snow, U.S.
At least 4 people died and more than 120 000 customers were left without power after a powerful Nor'easter hit the U.S. East Coast on Saturday, January 29, and Sunday, January 30, 2022. More than 16 million people were placed under winter weather alerts.
The storm rapidly intensified into a bomb cyclone on January 29 dropping heavy snow and producing hurricane-force winds. The heaviest snow was recorded in eastern Massachusetts where 78.48 cm (30.9 inches) was registered in Stoughton, about 32 km (20 miles) SW of Boston.

A nine-year-old boy has died and a man is in hospital after Storm Malik caused a tree to fall on them in Winnothdale, Staffordshire, Police have confirmed.
The tragic news comes after a 60-year-old woman was confirmed to have died earlier after being hit by a fallen tree blown over in Aberdeen.

Europe’s First Quantum Computer with More Than 5,000 Qubits Has Been Launched
German Federal Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Hendrik Wüst, and European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel have officially put the system of quantum computers into operation during a ceremony held today, at which they highlighted the importance of collaboration in the development of practical quantum applications across industry sectors and research fields. The FTC Is Suing Lockheed Martin To Stop Its $4.4 Billion Aerojet Rocketdyne Deal
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit to stop the pending acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne and aerospace titan Lockheed Martin. The proposed deal is worth $4.4 billion in cash and debt. Still, the US Trade Representative contends that the combination of the two companies would give Lockheed Martin leverage it could use “to harm rival defence contractors and further consolidate multiple markets critical to national security and defence.”

The worst affected were the United Kingdom, Denmark, Poland, and Germany where homes and cars were destroyed, bridges shut, trains canceled and ferries docked as coastal surges led to flooding.
