Speaking for myself, COVID completely changed my view of what seemed "possible" for us to achieve, as a movement. It laid bare that TPTB are not only shamelessly corrupt, and not only much more powerful than I had realised, but also it's not even TPTB that I thought it was! Namely, I thought it was national governments + informal interference from busybody NGOs. In fact, it's disembodied globalist organisations who are supreme in this age, and they operate in league with corporations (Big Tech and Big Pharma) and they utilise (through very robust chains of command) the national governments as conduits to the public, and those governments perform this role without ever causing TPTB any problems at all. It is a system tailor-made for planetary scale corruption, and it revealed itself precisely by performing a planetary-scale act of corruption.

So this is a completely different gameboard from the one I thought we were playing on. It makes the efforts of grassroots organisations seem much tinier than in 2019. The public matter to national governments, by necessity, and grassroots organisations in each country are able to, or at least were once able to, cause a significant stink for national governments. In this new system, the public are utterly irrelevant to TPTB, and grassroots organisations are easily crushed in whichever country they might happen to sprout up.

And then there's the public. TPTB are not what I thought they were, but neither are the public. They are like an alien species to me, with radically different opinions and priorities from mine. And what's more, they are NPCs, almost literally incapable of thinking any thoughts that have not been approved by the powerful. They are deracinated and they identify with their nation less than they identify with the next current cause they can change their avatar for. If they could give up their burdensome nations and live in an eternal global shopping mall, most of them would. They are the sheep being led to the slaughterhouse, and they love every step of the journey.

If there was something that I thought would yield results, I would do it. But right now the situation is overwhelming for any honest commentator.

This is why, in the Gram broadcasts, I try not to black-pill people by talking too much about how bad the situation is, because it really is fucking bad. I wouldn't blame anyone for just checking out of politics and focusing instead on the good things in life. For those people for whom that isn't an option, I try to provide a community. Survival is the only game for now, I think.

While certainly cathardic and entertaining, I feel there is always something a little misguided about laughing at these periodic progressive freakouts.

The right moans and pearl-cluthces during times of genuine defeat and genuine sadness. The left's periodic screetching is much more performative in nature. Whereas the emotions of the individual might be real, collectively these distraught overreactions are (like Crocidile tears) just a natural part of its collective consumption process.

First the activtist classes show up on the scene (scouts) to drop the guiding phereomones for the rest of the army. They do this by reacting in a distraught "drama queen" way, usually on Twitter or Facebook where their complaints can be captured. Notice how theatrical and narrative their complaints are? Notice how they lead with their protected classes? And how the problems seem always to be on the border line of something that MIGHT be legally actionable (but probably isn't). This in where conservatives take their LOLs but it’s all downhill afterwards.

Second the support caste comes to set up the harvesting operation. These people respond to the mewling which they use to identify a lucrative expansion possibility. Here are the official activist organizations, the writers, journalists, and academics. They filter out the noise and strengthen the narrative so that political and legal actual seem both possible, necessary, and (most importantly) profitable. Conservatives get less triumphalist at this stage, start grumbling more.

Last come the warrior caste. The big lifters who come in to eliminate the threat and transform the power breach into a lucrative source of income. These are the politicians, funded activist orgs, billionaires, NGOs, lawyers, and PACs. They respond not to the mewling but to the “expert consensus” developed in stage 2. Bc there is no RW equivalent, they usually win. By this time the conservatives are in full retreat, now making their own pearl clutching lamentations.

This is a pretty predictable pattern and everyone knows how it goes. In fact the predictability of this pattern is what underlies the triumphalism of streamers like Vaush or Hasan. But from the RW side the entertainment product isn’t as good. Even coming from people just telling you to “enjoy the moment” you know what comes afterwards.
