The ego, in psychological terms, is often associated with the sense of self-importance, identity, and the need for validation and recognition. Maintaining the ego involves a constant effort to protect and enhance this identity, which can lead to behaviors such as seeking approval from others, comparing oneself to others, and defending one's beliefs and opinions.

This constant need to assert and defend one's ego can be exhausting, as it requires a lot of mental and emotional energy. Additionally, when the ego is threatened or challenged, it can lead to feelings of insecurity, anxiety, and stress.

On the other hand, being consciously yourself involves being in touch with your true essence, beyond the constructs of the ego. It means living authentically, in alignment with your values, beliefs, and inner wisdom. When you are consciously yourself, you are not driven by the need for external validation or approval. Instead, you are guided by your own inner compass, which brings a sense of ease, peace, and fulfillment.

In this state, there is no need to constantly compare yourself to others or seek validation from external sources. You are content with who you are, and you radiate a sense of authenticity and confidence that is not dependent on external circumstances. This allows for a more effortless and sustainable way of living, as you are no longer expending energy trying to maintain a facade or protect your ego.
