Thomas Clarke was born in Hampshire in the UK to Irish parents.They moved back to Dungannon when Thomas was 7 years old and the family spent the rest of his youth there.

McDowall cites the case where a Croat national marries a Brazilian girl in BELFAST. Brings her here, where she gets a 5 year work visa.
They split after a year. He then met a Colombian girl here, who was trying to resist deportation. She/he then claimed she/he was in a durable relationship. (Term is embedded in EU migration law).
So claims were made by one Croat Nat for 2 women to remain.
McEntee’s Dept of Justice rejected the claim and it went
to the European court of Justice. It never went any further for different reasons. (Probably the concerned litigants disappeared or some such).
It’s immigration lawyers trying to set precedents. Imagine the funding behind this one simple example.
Now multiply by a million. If they can marry in Belfast, imagine the influx of these cases via the UK. The mind boggles.
If that referendum had passed we were burned toast.

You get a sense of this by looking at their pattern of borrowing during the Celtic Tiger years when bank lending for real estate initiatives grew from €5.5 billion in 1999 to €96.2 billion in 2007 - an increase of 1730%
More houses were built per head of population than any other country in Europe. Despite building at this rate, however, speculators still pulled off a ‘miracle’ by maintaining high prices until the very end.
How did supply increase so rapidly yet prices rise with it?
Their secret lay in monopoly control of building land and an endless supply of cheap credit provided by the banks.
The cost of land was less than 15% of a new build before the property boom but rose to between 40% and 50% at the height of the Celtic Tiger.
In just one year, this translated into a supernormal profit in excess of €6 billion for the small group of speculators who controlled the bulk of Irish land.
