Here in Donetsk, in the centre, it’s relatively calm. We can hear explosions in the background, but that’s nothing new, the citizens just go about their daily lives. However the streets are relatively empty.
Behind me you can see a large poster, it says “We are the Russian Donbass.”
The people here really want to belong to Russia. They are celebrating the current situation.
So what can I say to the current situation here? I hear how the Western Media are reporting about ‘BAD RUSSIA’, ‘Russia is attacking the Ukraine’. It’s very difficult to explain everything, when one is not here.

But you have to understand, for 8 years now Russia has continuously demanded that the Treaty of Minsk be honoured by Ukraine - this has not happened. The Ukrainian government has not approached the Donbass region and tried to manage the situation, they did not want to meet with the prime ministers of these republics. Instead, for 8 years now, they have been bombing the border regions of the Donbass Republic, shooting at civilians, who are living in houses which are shot to pieces. Many many people have died, children… The people are celebrating what is happening here now because of this. They see this as liberation - finally it is over. For 8 years they have suffered now under permanent shelling and bombardment, living under permanent fear.

This is just not being reported in Western Media, that the people of the Donbass Republics have separated because in Kiev, a Nazi government chased away the sitting president, and since then has been terrorising the Russian population.

Imagine in 2014, a national-socialist group had chased away Frau Merkel, sat down in Parliament and proclaimed “German is from now on not the official language any more.” Imagine several German states would have separated from Germany, because they did not want to accept this illegal, national-socialist government. And then, for example, Russia would have started supporting this Nazi-government, sending government and administrative officials there, sending people such as Vitaly Klitschko there, who would openly and officially support all of this, despite the fact we’re talking about Nazis in the middle of Europe here. That is exactly what happened in Kiev in 2014.

And then, on some wonderful and sunny day, these national-socialists would have started - in parliament - to terrorise the separatist regions with heavy artillery, started shooting at villages - it is a real sniper war that has been going on here for 8 years. And not only by the people’s (ethnic) militia groups who wanted to defend the Donbass republic, no, the snipers are shooting civilians, shooting normal people who are on their way to work. I heard from one lady that they shoot children, they shoot at school busses. With my own eyes I’ve seen many schools and kindergardens totally obliterated by gun shells - and all that is supported by the West! Nothing is being said against it. Have you heard any reports about this?

And this is why, my dear frens, the people here in Donetsk - which is seen as the capital - extremely grateful, that Russia is finally doing something and is liberating the people of this terror, which they have been subjected to for 8 years now.
