Residents of Dromahair have set up road checkpoints to prevent to prevent the rumoured arrival of asylum seekers.
It’s understood that there were a total of three checkpoints, with protestors stopping cars entering the small Leitrim village during the evening.
On Thursday, over 200 members of the community protested outside Abbey Manor Hotel where there are plans to accommodate 155 asylum seekers. Dromahair has a population of 800.
A pop-up NGO calling itself Leitrim For All was set up on Saturday in response to the protest.

Ireland has over 34,000 non-profits.😱
The sector employs over 160,000 people.
More than 90,000 people are involved in the governance of these NGOs, as directors serving on boards etc.
Would love to see similar info on the North of Ireland. Big thanks Dee for this.

Maybe this explains why so many organisations from the NGO sector were so ready to jump into lockstep to enforce all the covid nonsense, the social distancing, the vaccines, the masks etc.

.. she spoke to him!
(she said that she was ok with me sharing her message)
"I rang this abu kalam and he said it was lies that reporter told about him he said he's got a witness to what he said,was whoever killed that 5 year old shd b shot. He said he has kids himself and he's bn here a long time,his kids in school etc. And I believe him. Your man completely twisted his comments as if he had bn talking about the Irish rioters. He said he even got a call from America very indignant too! "
Update: In a separate later message she added ...
" Don't no but I felt he was genuine. He further said even if I was to think such thing I'm not stupid enough to say so in public "
