This is Fine Gael minister Simon Coveney speaking about the referendum in March.
Let's address the 2 ways he wants to update the constitution.
Families who are not a married man and woman are already protected under the current constitution. A married couple don't have any more rights then a non married couple. This broadening of the definition of family is solely to allow migrants who are here to bring all kinds of relations to Ireland and call them "family".
2nd, a woman raising children will of course be at home, or a childminder will be or they will be sent to crèche. But the children will be raised in some home. This is not an outdated concept. This broadening of the definition of a woman would mean any man who puts on a dress and adopts a child and calls himself mammy would be as equal in the constitution as a mother who gave birth to her child.
Children being raised in the home by their mother is an outdated idea according to r o'gorman .
I don't even think Coveney cares himself much watching this.

Reminder Ireland has only about 70 NGOs that directly lobby and influence policy on dangerous stuff like immigration, hate speech etc . With the top 7 doing the most lobbying. The total budget for these is probably in the 120 - 150 million range. The one "NGO" that has a huge budget is Pobal which disperses 1 billion in EU and Government funds to local development companies. Local Development companies are the county NGOs. 70 NGOs influencing policy, 40 NGOs that deliver locals services at a county level and then maybe 200 smaller random "lefty" NGOs at a local level with the same people involved in multiple of them. It's a big problem but don't blackpill yourself with the 33,000 NGOs + 6 Billion figure.

Hours ago, @gardainfo interfered with a peaceful protest, blocking the freedom of movement of thousands of people, forcing opposing factions into contact with each other. After this, they preyed upon and blocked a smaller group into a street from both ends and arrested anyone who tried to leave.
This is captured on video, with audio. Gardai who were asked “what way can we go?” Responded with “disperse”, pointing in both available directions but these were blocked with lines of riot police.
Keeping in mind that the Gardai initially blocked these people in, causing the confusion, this alone is enough evidence that the Gardai in question were instructed to act in a trivial manner in order to secure arrests.
This is then proved to be the case as on video, immediately after following a lawful order to move on, the individuals were again stopped by gardai who clearly seen and heard that these people were told to move on. They were pushed up against railings and terrorised. Children were in this group of people. For maximum terror, gardai separated parents from their children. There is one video where a gaurd looks at a mother, then at her child, and proceeds to physically apprehend the mother and move her away from her child. There was no visible threat from either of these individuals. It was clearly a conscious decision to create fear and adrenalise the young girl. This I take particular issue with. It has to be seen to be appreciated how sinister this was.
This damned if you do and damned if you don’t paradox, where this group were simultaneously placed under arrest for both moving and standing still, having been entrapped in the first place, is the most sinister manoeuvre I have ever witnessed from a police force against regular citizens. The gardai seized flags from these protestors, treating their flags as a threat while the state approved and funded protest was left unmolested, with their flags and their chants of “nazi scum” aimed at families with children young enough to be in buggies.
They need us to be afraid to bring our children so that the riot squads and the remunerated extremists can attack us. They are willing to attack families to achieve this. They are willing to do it on camera meaning the entire Department of Justice has provided assurances proactively for such brazenness to be perpetrated so confidently.
This upcoming election is our last hurrah at a democratic solution. It is not within the human condition or the Irish spirit to suffer this version of existence.
