The week ahead there is the FOMC meeting minutes at 14 UTC on May 22, and there is the potential approval of spot ETH ETF on May 23. According to Bloomberg analysts, approval odds increased to 75% lately. It 's the final deadline for some of the filings, so they should be rejected or approved, the SEC can't delay some of them anymore, and therefor if they do as spot BTC ETFs, they should approve all the request at the same time at the first final deadline.

📉 Ethereum chart review 📈

Ethereum made a monster breakout. Hard to forecast such candles, but one rule to remember, is that when they form, you got to respect the momentum. It is certainly not the best time to long, but if you hold long from lower entries, it make sense to give it a chance to grow higher.

My long already made 12:1 RR and first time I took partials was yesterday at ~3640. Just to pay myself for the patience. But with that momentum we may expect ETH to touched 2022 high at 3893 within nearest days. Or at least wipe out stops above 3735 swing high. The rest depends on SEC and ETF approval reaction on May 23rd.

Ethereum higher timeframe point of view. We may have a bull flag range forming here. Middle of that range is approximately around 3400 and that is the most attractive zone for revisit even in bullish scenario (where within nearest months $ETH breakout to ATH).

Might not happen if this week close above 3650 and the following week break range top and close above it. This will be extreme bullish scenario with money from ETF pushing price higher, as it did with BTC.

📉 Daily Bitcoin chart review 📈

Bitcoin is getting ready for another bullish impulse. Obviously now Ethereum is in the center of attention, so BTC/USDT price will be influenced by ETF approval (or denial) and follow ETH. Not that often that happens in crypto, but now is that rare time, when BTC is not the main asset.

Main question is if ETH ETF will be approved or not. Odds are 90% for approval. For me as a trader 90% is too much and too dangerous. When absolutely everyone is bullish, it makes me feel like something is wrong and someone is preparing a huge trap. But that is just past experience, that has nothing to do with ETF and already proved to be wrong with BTC ETF.

So lets just wait for announcement. Should be somewhere in between 16-20 UTC time. So far holding both BTC and ETH longs in good profit.

The SEC approved 19b-4 forms for several ETFs, including those from BlackRock, Fidelity and Grayscale.

While the forms have been approved, the ETF issuers need to have their S-1 registration statements go effective before trading can begin. The SEC has started conversations with issuers about their S-1 forms but only recently. It's unclear how long this process will take but some analysts are speculating that it could take weeks.

“I think that if they work extremely hard it can be done within a couple weeks but there are plenty of examples of this process taking 3+ months historically,” added Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.
