🔴 AWS Middle East Incident — A Reminder About Cloud Resilience
AWS has confirmed that some customer data in the Middle East could not be recovered after major physical damage affected its data centers in the UAE and Bahrain.
The incident is a reminder that “cloud” does not mean data is immune to physical or geopolitical risks. Cloud infrastructure still depends on physical servers located in specific buildings, countries, and regions.
For critical data, relying on a single Availability Zone or Region is not enough. Independent backups and cross-region replication remain essential for true disaster recovery.
