AI will be awful for us, but it's only one part of the wider problem of automatization that is common to practically all post-industrial societies. Industrial society is defined by the fact that humans are gradually made irrelevant by machines.
If you don't want to be replaced, you'd better stop thinking we can just reform all these issues away.
Get organized.

As AI "progresses", the mask on technocrats' faces is slowly slipping as they show just how little they care for human autonomy and wild nature. They care for one thing and one thing only: serving the technoindustrial system.

You were lied to about space colonization. It would be even more disastrous than 'normal' colonization already has been.

Almost every national government in the world claims to be 'democratic', and yet people have never had this little control over their own lives. To blame certain groups, or even certain ideologies, is far-sighted and has gotten us nowhere. History has shown that the technological infrastructure of industrial society inevitably leads to stratification and inequality, among countless other societal issues.

Nuclear energy supporters are not different from other techno-optimists and technophiles: they're betting on successful rational control where history has shown it to be tenuous at best. Chernobyl stands as a reminder of industrial tech's inherent unpredictability and uncontrollability.
The fact of the matter is that all "green" energy tries to hide that industry has to extract from Nature to exist in the first place. If you don't oppose industrial technology, what kind of environmentalist are you, even?

Artificial intelligence has only been in the public sphere for a mere three years and it is *already* ruining people.
"By making it about individual corporate judgment, [Sam Altman of OpenAI] hides the fact that most harms are structural: in the case of AI, the platforms are designed to maximize engagement, extract data, and achieve efficiency. These features are determined in large part by competitive pressures and natural selection among rival AI companies that must competing for power to survive. It's literally baked into the whole ecosystem of a society with AI tools.

In his book "1984", Orwell wrote that [under the fictional dictatorship of INGSOC] "...nothing was your own except the few cubic centimeters inside your skull."
Well, with Neuralink, you won't even have that. If you believe that it's worth it to fight for a world where you can control your own thoughts, consider joining us today.

βIn the 17th, 18th century, the Antichrist would have been [...] a scientist who did all this sort of evil crazy science [...] In the 21st century, the Antichrist is a Luddite who wants to stop all science. Itβs someone like Greta or Eliezer,β he said, referring to Thunberg and Eliezer Yudkowsky, a prominent critic of the tech industryβs approach to AI.β
It's beyond hilarious that Peter Thiel thinks Greta Thunberg is a Luddite. But it tells us something about the nature of technocrats and technophiles like him.

All of us who are stuck in industrial civilization aren't really living: we're merely existing. Life can be found only in wild nature, the environment we evolved for.
We must return to it by any means necessary. Looking for solutions? Visit wildernessfront.comπ²

And no, switching out your new phone for an old one will not fix your life. The problems of industrial society run much, much deeper than that.
The reason Gen Z sees life as unsatisfying and pointless is because it is. A life in an artificial environment isolated from wild Nature can never be truly satisfying, no matter how comfortable you might find it.

Protests show just how resilient modern society is to rational control. No amount of protests has succeeded in changing the basis of society, because that basis is ultimately determined by technology.
A revolutionary movement can only truly transform society if it changes the level of technological progress. And if that movement values wild Nature and human freedom, it ought to fight against industrialism, not for it.

The White House has said that access to glyphosate - a literal carcinogenic chemical - is a matter of "national security".
If this is the kind of "security" technocrats offer us, what even is the point of living in a technological society?

Most if not all early civilizations' religions upheld the concept of a simple, natural life as an ideal. Modern society's rejection of these virtues goes to show how technology isolates man from Nature and everything else that matters in life.
Are you aware of any other examples of religious texts that fit into the anti-tech, pro-wilderness worldview?

"...throughout my time here, I've repeatedly seen how hard it is to truly let our values govern our actions..."
- Mrinank Sharma, Ex-Safety Lead of Anthropic
People keep wondering why greed always wins over virtue, but Ted already explained it: technological society forces us into an endless game of "natural" selection, where only the most ruthless reach the top.
How do we break the cycle? Break the industrial technology that's at the core of it all.
