It all feels as though the decision that Europe will be going to war against Russia has already been made. Not so long ago, Europe’s leaders were talking about war against Russia coming in 2029 or 2030, but now it seems that this timeline has been moved up quite a bit, perhaps only a matter of some unexpected surprise needed to induce the necessary mass formation psychosis for men across Europe to step up and enlist to do their duty.
All the while, the British media are doing their part, dutifully informing their fellow citizens that the Russians are coming: In just one week, more than 250 articles have been published about the supposed threat from Russia, which is remarkable! Foodborne nanoparticles (NPs) have drawn great attention due to human health concerns. This study reports the detection of the presence of fluorescent NPs, about 5 nm, in two of the most popular beverages, Coca-Cola (Coke) and Pepsi-Cola (Pepsi).
The biodistribution study in major organs indicated that the NPs were easily accumulated in the digestive tract, and they were able to cross the blood–brain barrier and dispersed in the brain. In vitro digestion of the NPs showed a significant fluorescence quenching of the NPs. This work represents the first report of foodborne fluorescent NPs present in Coke and Pepsi, and provides valuable insights into physicochemical properties of these NPs and their toxicity characteristics both in vitro and in vivo.
