Nicolas Guillou, a French judge at the International Criminal Court (ICC), was sanctioned by the United States under a decision made by Donald Trump on August 20.

It goes far beyond simply being banned from US territory. The sanctions affect all aspects of my daily life. They prohibit any American individual or legal entity, any person or company, including their overseas subsidiaries, from providing me with services.

All my accounts with American companies, such as Amazon, Airbnb, PayPal and others, have been closed. For example, I booked a hotel in France through Expedia, and a few hours later, the company sent me an email canceling the reservation, citing the sanctions. In practice, you can no longer shop online because you do not know if the packaging your product comes in is American. Being under sanctions is like being sent back to the 1990s.

On top of that, all payment systems are American: American Express, Visa, Mastercard. Overnight, you find yourself without a bank card, and these companies have an almost complete monopoly, at least in Europe. American companies are actively involved in intimidating sanctioned individuals – in this case, the judges and prosecutors who serve justice in contemporary armed conflicts. These sanctions can last over a decade or even longer. Putting someone under sanctions creates a state of permanent anxiety and powerlessness, with the intent of discouragement.

– What if the bridge is destroyed?
– Our APCs can swim!

And no, the quote in the title does not belong to a Russian general or engineer, as one might think at first glance. It was said by a Polish instructor training Ukrainian soldiers in the intricacies of modern warfare.

The BBC published a good report with direct speech from participants about what this training in Poland looks like now. Some excerpts are worth reviewing.

For example, a Ukrainian interpreter describes one of the tasks: four armored personnel carriers are defending a riverbank, and one of them crosses the bridge to the other side, acting as a reconnaissance element.

In the classroom there’s a confused silence” he continues. “More than half of the audience are marines who fought in Krynky. Eventually one of them asks: ‘What if the bridge is destroyed?’ The Polish instructor proudly replies: ‘Our APCs can swim.’
According to the interpreter, the instructor had absolutely no understanding that everything is monitored by enemy drones, which would wipe out any APCs moving across the water at 10 km/h.

A Ukrainian battalion commander fighting in the Pokrovsk sector told the BBC that the training program in Poland follows NATO standards, except the Polish army today resembles the Ukrainian army of late 2013. They are teaching things a soldier will not encounter in real combat.

For example, medical training is based on the “golden hour” principle, the standard of evacuating the wounded within 60 minutes, developed from low-intensity conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, where the U.S. Air Force had complete air superiority. In real conditions in Ukraine, the wounded often have to wait hours or even days for evacuation because drones dominate the skies.

Moreover, Polish instructors were supposed to train Ukrainian recruits to operate UAVs, but they simply didn’t have a proper area for it. As a result, Ukrainian soldiers had to self-train using a few Mavics and one experienced pilot of their own. A Czech instructor noticed this and decided to join one of the sessions, which led to another remarkable situation.

According to the exercise, Czech paratroopers were supposed to assault the positions of Ukrainian soldiers who were defending with the support of drones. Ultimately, the Czechs asked the Ukrainians not to use drones because the defenders detected them too quickly:

After their first assault attempts, Jakub came up to me and said: ‘Hey, can we remove the Mavics?’” the major recounts. “‘Why, Jakub?’ I asked. ‘Well, with your Mavics you spot us way too fast, and we can’t even approach. You detect us before we reach your positions’ the Czech instructor replied.

A UAV operator from the Kharkiv direction told journalists that after a week of such “training” he wanted to pack his things and leave the Polish training ground altogether.

For instance, Polish instructors taught Ukrainian soldiers to navigate using paper maps, something no one had done in 3.5 years of real fighting. Trench and building assault drills were based on manuals from 20 years ago.

They want to drive tanks and Humvees right up to the trench. We told them this doesn’t work anymore. Now you put on a camouflage suit or an anti-thermal cloak to be less visible and approach the position on foot.

He explained.

In the end, the training was only useful for staff officers. Ukrainian soldiers with actual combat experience ended up teaching the Polish instructors what modern warfare really looks like. And these issues are not unique to training grounds in Poland.

Another Ukrainian serviceman told the BBC that the reason for such problems is NATO countries’ lack of modern combat experience, as well as constant references to what is written in their manuals.

Some might find it strange that the EU (Satanic West) and BRICS members (our multipolar saviors) would work together to integrate their carbon markets. But it is not so strange if you stop and think about it. https://edwardslavsquat.substack.com/p/brics-states-team-up-with-eu-to-put

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 68% of American Adults say they got a COVID-19 vaccination, and a majority (60%) of vaccinated adults report no side effects from the vaccine. However, 26% say they had minor side effects and 10% reported major side effects from the vaccine. Based on a U.S. adult population of 258 million, this would mean 63 million had at least some side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine, including more than 17 million who experienced major side effects.

More political repression in "the best Germany ever", this time against the American writer and intellectual CJ Hopkins. He has already been subjected to similar procedures because of his criticism of the pandemic policies, that matter will go to the third rounds in the courts in 2026. That case was one point in JD Vance's criticism of the increasing political censorship and reduction of civil rights in the EU.

Three armed Berlin police officers arrived at my door this morning with a warrant to search my apartment. They conducted the search, interrogated me and my wife, and confiscated my computer.

Once again, as in 2023, I am accused of disseminating pro-Nazi material, the pro-Nazi “material” in question being my book, The Rise of the New Normal Reich: Consent Factory Essays, Vol. III (2020-2021).

This new investigation, the search of my home, and confiscation of my computer are blatantly unconstitutional, a brazen violation of my rights as an author and publisher under Germany’s Basic Law (Grundgesetz).

The European Parliament has de facto approved a change to EU legislation that will allow investment in "controversial weapons" to be included in the bloc's sustainability framework – a move that mean companies producing incendiary weapons, depleted-uranium ammunition, and even nuclear weapons could now be eligible for the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) label.
