🇳🇱 Pagan King Radbod the Champion of Frisia.

For almost 40 years, Radbod would resist the destruction of his culture and people by the forceful and violent conversions demanded by the christian Franks who launched several campaigns to destroy and subjugate what is now the Netherlands.

After years of back and forth fighting, a long time of being a painful thorn in the large Frankish Kingdom’s side, Radbod would sadly eventually be overrun by the sheer size of his enemies. Frisian sites and monuments would be destroyed, children would be kidnapped and brainwashed into christianity and if any Frisian would disobey and stay loyal to their people, culture and ancestral faith, they would be executed and their bodies displayed publicly by the christian hordes.

As the christians demanded the defeated Radbod to be baptized, he would resist once again at the very last moment, giving us his famous quote:
