This resulted in William being able to counter attack with his heavy cavalry through this gap, right into the back of the English formation. This disrupted the whole formation and in the chaos that followed, Harold was struck with an arrow through his eye and died. While this made the levies panic, the Elite Anglo-Saxon huscarls continued fighting from morning till nightfall, to the very last man.

That is how William the Bastard of Normandy, who brought the first jews to ever stain England with their presence, would sadly be victorious and England would be forever changed.
