Russia still open to talks with West - FM spox Zakharova
Russian Foreign Ministry spox Maria Zakharova has insisted the door to diplomacy is still wide open as far as the Kremlin is concerned, adding FM Sergey Lavrov still hopes to meet US Sec State Anthony Blinken on Thursday.
"We even said in the worst moments that we are prepared for the negotiation process," Zakharova said.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz added weight to the importance of peaceful negotiation, by claiming further diplomacy is crucial to avoid a “catastrophe” in Ukraine.
