China Stocks Set for Worst Day in Two Months as Inflation Climbs (Report)

China's factory gate inflation hit a 26-year high in October as coal prices soared amid a power crunch in the country's industrial heartland – Chinese equities dropping from the fallout, nearing their lowest level for a year. (Bloomberg)

The producer price index climbed 13.5% from a year earlier, faster than the 10.7% rise in September, the National Bureau of Statistics said. It matched a pace not seen since July 1995.

The price pressures complicate deliberations for the People's Bank of China, which may now be wary of injecting monetary stimulus too quickly amid concerns about fanning inflation, even as growth in the world's second-largest economy slows.

Top Israeli supermarket chain & food group raided over "price fixing"

The chain Shufersal and food producer Strauss Group have announced they were raided on Tuesday over allegations they've breached competition law.

A source claims it's over alleged price-fixing, after officials from both companies warned of rising prices in media interviews.

Shufersal denied any wrongdoing saying, "the company acts within the law." Strauss Group could not be reached for comment, ynetnews said.
