Corn futures fell for the second consecutive day and soybeans had their worst drop in roughly a month as news of US planting intentions and quarterly stockpiles are announced Thursday.

Meta forced to scrap huge data center in Netherlands after govt opposition

The Dutch Senate voted against plans to approve a hyperscale data center in the Zeewolde region of the Netherlands after environmental concerns, reversing an invitation by local and national councils in 2019.

In February, the Netherlands announced a 9-month ban on data centers larger than 10 hectares over fears they would threaten sustainability targets and use a “disproportionate amount” of energy.

Mass Wave of Phishing Attacks Target US Officials

The FBI says there’s a widespread campaign against election officials to steal their credentials ahead of the midterms.

The agency claimed that “as of October 2021, US election officials in at least nine states received invoice-themed phishing emails containing links to websites intended to steal login credentials."

The attacks - likely a concerted effort, the agency says - used the same compromised email accounts belonging to US govt officials and fake business accounts.
