Australian state parliament passes sweeping pandemic management bill
The State Parliament of Victoria passed contentious pandemic management legislation which grants emergency powers to the state’s premier and health minister amid future pandemics. (Epoch Times)
The legislation which passed 20-18 is now set for royal assent to the state governor to be sworn into law.
The new law has been amended multiple times and has seen protests break out in Victoria’s largest city of Melbourne against it and tightening Covid restrictions.
