It's seen as the first-ever industrial public-private partnership investment project to be undertaken by partners from all BRICS member-states.
China National Gold Corp - one of the top gold miners in China
Russian Sovereign Investment Fund
Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund
Along with leading private investment + business leaders from Brazil and South Africa
All are partnering in the multi-national joint venture.
The Kluchevskoye gold deposit will transform into a significant open-pit mine, with an expected gold production of more than 6.5 tonnes per annum.
Ivor Ichikoqitz chairman of TransAfrica Capital said the project marked a critical step in the evolution of BRICS.
Sun Gold sold 70% stake in The Kluchevskoye Project to China National Gold in exchange for CNGs gold expertise. The remaining 30% is held through its 100% ownership of the SUN Kluchevskoye Holdings Limited.
