اسمهاي مختوم به s – sh – ch –x – z – ss را بوسيله es به جمع تبديل مي كنيم. box boxes church churches bus buses glass glasses 3- اسمهاي مختوم به y در صورتيكه حرف مافبل y يك حرف بي صدا باشد هنگام جمع بستن y حذف و مابقي كلمه ies مي گيرد. lady ladies army armies ولي چنانچه حرف ماقبل y يكي از حروف صدادار باشد، كلمه هنگام جمع بستن فقط s مي گيرد. boy boys valley valleys 4- كلماتي كه به حرف f يا fe ختم مي شوند در هنگام جمع بستن f يا fe به ves تبديل مي شوند. leaf leaves wife wives knife knives thief thieves يادآوري: roof و proof و برخي از كلمات ديگر از اين قاعده مستثنا هستند و فقط s مي گيرند. 5- برخي از كلمات مفرد را بوسيله تغيير حروف صدادار آنها به جمع تبديل مي كنيم. man men tooth teeth foot feet woman women 6- برخي از كلمات مفرد را با اضافه كردن حروفي غير از s يا es به آخرشان به جمع تبديل مي كنيم. child children criterion criteria 7- مفرد بعضي از كلمات همانند جمع آن هاست. sheep sheep fish
